Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an Senior Civil Engineer/Environmental Engineer to support an expanding portfolio of projects in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. We are looking for an experience civil engineer to support environmental permitting projects for several Arcadis clients in the Mid-western United States, including various energy development projects, including electrical transmission, natural gas pipeline and renewable energy projects. The position will require familiarity with federal and state environmental permitting.

Arcadis provides multiple onboarding and development programs created for our professionals that will expand career growth and help drive creativeness, innovation, and greater integration within our local, national, and global teams.

Role accountabilities:

  • Civil/Environmental engineering design including land development planning, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design
  • Developing permit/construction-level drawings and details
  • Preparing technical specifications
  • Report writing for civil and environmental permitting
  • Construction cost evaluation/estimating
  • Office-based support of active construction projects (e.g., submittal reviews, field change documentation, site layout information)
  • Candidates must be able to lead teams of civil engineers
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • BS of Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline
  • 7-10 years of previous work experience (internship or full-time experience in civil or environmental consulting or related field)
  • P.E. in Minnesota
  • Understanding of land development, erosion & sediment control, and stormwater permitting
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, or other terrain modeling design software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS)
  • P.E. in additional mid-west states including Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois.
