Job Description
  • The Senior Copywriter has a minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Copywriter; with a deep understanding of the ways copy helps clients achieve their aims, and the ability to generate immaculate copy for every brief.
  • Is an experienced writer and understands his or her subject matter and how to write in the Medline brand voice.
  • Writes various copy options, which may be presented to the client as a wireframe or later with full copy in layout form, depending on complexity
  • Collaborates with designer and creative lead to craft story and concepts

Quality and Standards
  • Strives for excellence in concept helping our department elevate the quality of our creative product.
  • Uses their writing talent to be a good storyteller. Using well-chosen words to clarify difficult medical concepts in a way that that motivate action and elicits a desired response.
  • Reviews their copy for errors at all stages of work. Ensures their work is error free before printing or publishing.
  • Develops a critical eye and is able to self-correct his/her design solutions, find weaknesses and solve design problems effectively with minimal outside guidance and support.
  • Interoperate the creative brief into marketing-oriented creative direction.
  • Has the abilities to work within tight time frames; ensuring on-time delivery is met.
  • They understand and follow the Medline process and procedures and their solutions are on brand and on strategy
  • Can verbally translate medical and technical information into a relevant and persuasive sales collateral piece.
  • Responsible to create consistent product copy and implement across all mediums (print and digital)

Creative Thinking
  • Develop creative strategies around the compass that are forward thinking, are on strategy and brand and in-line with current media trends
  • Gains understanding of the product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
  • Brainstorms ideas and concepts for the visual and words with other members of the customer engagement team.
  • Flexible and able to change course and readjust ideas and creative direction based on new feedback and guidance
  • Leverages developed strategy in their concept development to guide more effective solutions.
  • Able to work with integrated marketing plans to curate new and reusable content that best suits the target persona.
  • Advocates with client and internal marketing team to acquire full content before creative initiated.

  • Creative Management
  • Manages day-to-day writing assignments and rewriting needs.
  • Works with brand and positioning authors to translate outcome to foundational messaging documents.
  • Make sure that job deadlines and budgets are met, ensuring that job quality is maintained, and project is developed in an organized and controlled manner.
  • Create and maintain files for all creative assets and resources in accordance with company procedures and filing protocol.
  • Ask questions and review all information from clients and AE carefully to ensure information is accurate, thorough and fully understood.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of campaign objectives and devise strategies to achieve them
  • Manages multiple projects of all sizes and complexity, with the ability to switch from one to the other seamlessly
  • Willing to help out when needed, raises their hand, and ensures that they help in balancing workload, so no teammate is overburdened.
  • Has a well-developed work ethic. Does what it takes to arrive at successful solutions.

Knowledge and Research
  • Translates insights into simplest, compelling, and scannable form.
  • Initiates communication with reps as needed to gain insights and a deeper understanding and knowledge of the market and how they are using proposed tactic to sell product/solution

Client Relationships
  • Partners with their account executive and customer engagement team to discuss the client's requirements and core messages. Engage with client to ensure clarity of assignments.
  • Seeks out strategic foundational documents and refer back to them, as opposed to requiring restatement of core strategies with each new tactical request.
  • Prepared, organized; presenting and defending ideas and work in a diplomatic and compelling fashion.
  • Refers stakeholders back to business and marketing objectives, value props and briefs when developing content.

Job Qualifications
Basic requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English or related field
  • At least 4 years of copywriting experience writing marketing copy aimed at a broad audience
