Position Summary:





Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Information Technology programs and project Infrastructure & Applications. This person leads and mentors the project team, and acts as the primary interface between digital technology and business teams. Duties include requirements gathering, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, closing, and managing day to day operations.





Responsibilities:





Program & Project Management:



  • Ensures projects are delivered to meet to the overall program objectives.

  • Manages programs/projects to successful and consistent delivery on scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Develops and executes organizational transition and change management plans.

  • Recruits, onboards, develops and manages IT infrastructure and applications specialists

  • Supports team personnel, encourages development of subordinates, and builds a high-functioning talent bench

  • Identifies knowledge and performance gaps and recommends solutions to improve Project Management Office (PMO) practices and business processes.

  • Communicates project documentation to include project charter, scope statement, project management plan, work breakdown structures, network diagram, risk management, schedule, budget, and related documentation.

  • Develops requests for proposal (RFP). Defines project deliverables that meet business objectives and values.

  • Performs requirements gathering, develops and maintains a traceability matrix to ensure project goals are met with desired outcomes.

  • Initiates, coordinates, and conducts scheduled project meetings. Identifies and coordinates areas for further development that are critical to project completion; prepares and leads contingency plans.

  • Manages contracts by monitoring resources, deliverables, invoicing, and implementation.

  • Creates, monitors and reports out resource plans, estimates resource requirements through project lifecycle.

  • Develops risk management plans and monitors project risks

  • Develops project quality plans and ensures project quality standards are met.

  • Communicates project progress, status, and risks to all stakeholders

  • Performs other duties as required.



Operations Management:



  • Leads the enhancement and support of daily operations for IT applications and systems

  • Leads the support and daily operations of Infrastructure components such as Network, in-facility compute/data centers and provisions appropriate hardware and software solutions to end-users

  • Manages subject-matter expert resources to ensure stable and secure availability in their areas of accountability

  • Manages incident resolution and focuses on continuous improvement and coordinates with internal and external providers to manage service delivery and service-level agreements

  • Identifies opportunities for automation and process improvement and designs and implements plans to scale IT Operations to support projected business growth

  • Builds repeatable process playbooks to continue to launch new facilities

  • Provides and manages IT Services Catalog to serve the business

  • Designs the device management strategy and manages devices

  • Manages various vendors to provide in-field technology and/or end user computing

  • Performs root cause analysis for incidents and problems

  • Conveys business needs and engages with DEVOPS team to translate needs to technical requirements

  • Benchmarks business process capabilities and cross-process integration

  • Supports documentation and management of proposed, new, and existing configurations and integrations

  • Working knowledge of innovations in supply chain, manufacturing and distribution center facilities

  • Exposure to start-up or new business development environments

  • Possess intimate knowledge of who the customers are and the ability to put others above himself/herself

  • Demonstrate the ability to value both relationships and results


Skills/Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required. Masters preferred.

  • Experience in life sciences or chemical industry is preferred

  • Minimum eight (8) years experience managing complex, high-risk, and multi-disciplinary projects of similar scope

  • Extensive knowledge and application of standard project management processes and best practices for Waterfall and/or Agile approaches.

  • Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) and/or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) strongly preferred

  • 7+ years IT operations experience in both maintaining Applications and Infrastructure

  • Strong IT operational experience in distribution, manufacturing or related businesses

  • Strong experience leveraging managed services and global vendor management

  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills

  • Must have strong organizational skills and possess high attention to detail.

  • Must be an excellent communicator and listener
