Senior Manager, Business Case Analytics

About the role:

You will support the Managed Markets Field Account Team and other internal customers in the development and application of account level strategies that maximize product access and profitability. At the payer level, responsible for understanding brand specific issues, environmental and legislative dynamics affecting account performance. You will develop comprehensive business plans highlighting anticipated outcomes associated with multiple contracting alternatives. Senior managers help gather, interpret, and communicate strategic market access information and leads to ensure integration into corporate planning cycles.Leader within the business case analytics team on best practices, recognizes inefficiencies and offers and implements new solutions. Develop an understanding in other related functions (e.g., price forecasting, demand forecasting, finance, contracts and pricing) to provide better deliverables and insights across the business. You will be accountable for delivering main insights and strategic possible effects to us to create our business case analytics decisions

How you will contribute:

  • Drive the Business Case process, including formal reviews and presentations with Takeda leadership team (Including Directors and Vice Presidents )
    • Develops analytics to measure ROI associated with multiple contracting alternatives.
    • Works cross functionally to ensure business cases comply with established guidelines (Managed Markets, Contracts and Pricing, Legal, Finance).
    • Highlights negotiation levers and tactics for Account Managers, assures necessary support material is available.
    • Delivers high-impact, well-thought out presentations to executive audiences and clearly convey key messages.
    • Challenges business case assumptions as needed; advocate for analytical perspective and independence
    • Clearly highlights the pros and cons of different options to facilitate strategic decision making
    • Ability to pressure-test business cases and think as external viewer leveraging a variety of data sets to explain business case analytics story
  • Deep expertise in understanding and communicating the link between payer channels, distributions channels, brand strategies and performance on overall ROI objectives.
  • Exhibits deep MM & industry knowledge, gathers insights and conducts analysis to understand and respond to changing customer strategies. Along with Acct Mgr, serves as expert on the business models & strategies of assigned customer accounts
  • Ability to translate payer and product strategies into applicable plans by assisting Account Managers in developing account specific approaches to improve patient access and market share performance. Collects, synthesizes and communicates integrated data to create a situational analysis.
  • Ensures financial estimates are accurate and consistent with corporate goals.
  • Consistently identify, communicate, recommend, and champion solutions to issues driving performance at an account, segment, geographic, or customer level. Proactively tracks issues affecting top accounts and regional results.
  • Demonstrate expertise in multiple therapeutic classes. Working with Account Managers or Trade Managers, guides the development of account & distribution strategies leading to improved access across the entire Takeda portfolio.
  • Work with Therapeutic Products Managers, Account Managers, Business Insights and Brand/Sales teams to maximize opportunities associated with patient access and formulary-wins.
  • Lead project teams through collaboration at multiple levels of organization to improve products access and profitability.
  • Lead and identify process improvements within business case and USBU planning process, always with a focus of adding value.
  • Champion of change within the business case analytics team and coaches/mentors team members on best practices and training
  • Provide ongoing updates to organizational leadership about business cases and performance

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years modeling/analytical, finance, contracting, experience is required.
  • Pharmaceutical or Managed Care experience including health plan operations, design, reimbursement and formulary decision making strongly preferred. Understanding of brand strategy beneficial.
  • The position requires competencies in the following skills: gross to net analytics and insights, leadership, written and verbal communications, ability to think strategically, and problem solving.
  • Expert understanding of financial spreadsheets and business principles is required with formulas, pivot tables experience required
  • Time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities with a high degree of initiative required
