Job Summary
Provide design, build, and operational support expertise for projects leveraging advanced middleware technologies. Participate in architecting, designing, implementing, and configuration Web Application Server Technology products which include but are not limited to: IBM WebSphere family of products, JBOSS family of products, WebLogic, IIS, etc. Leads troubleshooting and analysis activities for middleware technologies which include but are not limited to the following: Web Applications Server Services, Messaging, File Transfer, and Business Intelligence Services. Provide multiple site support of the installation, upgrading, testing, and maintenance of software and hardware. Creates detailed work plans for both installation and continuing maintenance. Conducts tests and monitors new installations. Develops automation and scripting to install, configure, and patch solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1) Directs the installation, upgrade, testing and maintenance of multiple server and network operating system environments.
2) Directs installation and deployment of security patches across the server environment and ensures adherence to change control policies.
3) Writes and coordinates technical standards and procedures.
4) Documents system designs, train peers, and operational staff
5) Troubleshoots issues and determines root cause quickly.
6) Troubleshoots/diagnoses proprietary software issues (Memory Leaks, Buffer Overflows, etc), and then works with our vendors to obtain the proper product patches.
7) Performs work with high degree of independence and administrative responsibility.
8) Strong understanding of web application servers and the configuration of resources
9) Provides highly technical, ongoing support of Middleware.
10) Writes and coordinates technical standards and procedures.
11) Performs other related duties as assigned.
12) Responds to change in a positive manner and willingness to shift your work or schedule in response to the demands of the situation.
13) Directs the monitoring and tuning on a regular basis. Produces statistics on performance and is responsible for identifying and resolving performance problems.
14) Conducts problem resolution. Performs research and testing to determine cause and makes necessary corrections.
