Job Description

Raymarine: Is a market leader in design and manufacture of leisure marine electronics. Our products include: Digital Marine Cartography, Navigational Displays, Radar, Sonar, Thermal & Visible cameras, instruments, ship control systems and many other leading-edge technology products

Job Summary:

To represent the Product Assurance function as part of a multifunctional team, to deliver testing to cartography products development and acceptance tasks, using marine knowledge and experience to ensure products are fit for purpose

The successful candidate will be working alongside software developers and marine domain products testers, to deliver robust testing to our range of cartography products and features. Raymarine uses an agile development program called 'Scrum' which is becoming a popular environment in industries who have core software development. This is an excellent opportunity to experience this process in action and where and how it can add value to the process.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of test requirements and test risks, in conjunction with the development team
  • Planning and estimation of test tasks
  • Creating test cases in readiness for execution
  • Test execution & recording of results
  • Raising bugs and issues
  • Perform risk assessments for identified issues, in order to quantify severity and impact to end users
  • Provide marine domain input throughout the development process

Job Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
  • 2+ years' experience with Coastal or Offshore marine navigation
  • Suitable marine-domain qualifications: i.e. Ex-Military, Commercial or Leisure Marine (eg: OUPV/Six-Pack Captain's License)
  • Experience with reading/interpreting nautical charts
  • Knowledge of tides and current data, sources and interpretation
