In this exciting leadership role as a Sr Engineering Program Manager you will have responsibility for representing the R&D function on cross-functional product development initiatives for the Cardiac Ablation Solutions Operating Unit (OU). You will be empowered to establish R&D strategy early in design for new product development. In this rewarding role, you can directly influence product outcomes across new product development programs.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the design and development of new medical device products or software systems.
Directs day to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations.
Responsible for project performance, schedule, risk management, administration, financial management, budgeting, capital planning, forecasting and issue resolution.
Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.
Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of development.
Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain alignment and manage execution across R&D disciplines.
Communicate key program information to ensure Core Team and R&D leadership engagement and alignment.
Ensure R&D requests are defined, implemented, and met (requests flow down) across project.
Proactively drive and champion strategic quality, reliability, and safety improvements.
Identify risks and implement risk burn down strategies.
Coach and support project team members on compliance with Quality System requirements.
Coordinate project support for audits.
Member of a commercialization Core Team - partner with other Core Team members to achieve business objectives. Ability to work down into the function as well as across with other Core Team and business partners.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field and regulated industry experience.
Project management experience.
10+ years relevant engineering experience with medical products
Strong program management skills - knowledge of schedule, budget, issue/risk tools and techniques
Demonstrated success in partnering and influencing across a matrix environment.
Ability to create and manage key internal and external partnerships.
Demonstrated track record of flawless execution.
Professional attitude and service orientation; superb team player
7+ years program management experience.
Creative problem solver - ability to think outside the box to resolve issues
Masters degree in engineering or MBA
Experienced practitioner of Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM)
Working knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards applicable to medical devices
