Key Responsibilities

To support purchasing and inventory control functions within the ASC environment and assist the Purchasing Manager with other supply chain duties as needed in support of SBU operational goals and chemical management customer requirements.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to obtain the best overall value, minimizing supply chain costs while maximizing working capital.
  • Assist with new program implementation, inventory integration, and planning/procurement transfer.
  • Accountable for corporate product line and program cost savings, service level and inventory days on hand targets.
  • Responsible for developing simple forecasts for customer programs and maintaining master planning for core product lines and customer programs.
  • Primary supply chain responsibilities for one or more core product lines and/or chemical management programs including: sourcing, competitive bids, supplier management, planning, procurement, expediting and disposition and mitigation of aging and obsolete inventories.
  • Issue purchase orders in accordance with corporate purchasing policies.
  • Manage transportation costs for all assigned incoming materials.
  • Work with other departments to ensure timely repackaging and transfer of materials to chemical management customers.
  • Contribute to ASC operating profits through the management of cost effective contracts for supplies and services for the North American Aerospace SBU.
  • Coordinate disposition of return goods.
  • Set up new suppliers and maintains site specific supplier information.
  • Maintain supplier prices lists and cost information.
  • Correspond with chemical management customer representatives in support of assigned programs.
  • Ensure timely receipt of purchased materials.
  • Ensure inventory record accuracy and conduct annual physical inventory.
  • Assist in the implementation and identification of process improvement and cost saving projects. Implement quality improvement process in daily activities as necessary to develop innovative ways to improve processes and methods of doing business.
  • Complies with Corporate policies, corporate procedures, health requirements, safety requirements, and environmental requirements at all times.
  • Responsible for maintaining professional and ethical actions when dealing with vendors and business associates.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
