The Senior Technical Manager, Network Management Services is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, managing, and making secure the networking and telecommunications infrastructure for all of OCLCs revenue-generating and administrative systems. This individual should work as a key representative of the Division for network services and be able to communicate individual section-level and department-level work/priorities for their teams, as well as other peer sections and departments managers across the division and enterprise. This role will also be responsible for the individuals in his/her section and should display qualities of a strong technical leader i.e., leading, collaborating, transparency, managing staff performance.

  • Build and foster a work culture of mutual trust
  • Lead by setting metrics, coaching, and mentoring the team
  • Ensure the service levels, availability, performance and integrity of the networks and related systems, which are vital to provision of internal and production services systems critical to revenue generation.
  • Collaborates directly with other infrastructure and development managers and senior technical staff to identify and analyze requirements and provide network facilities in support of OCLCs products and services.
  • To be successful, the incumbent needs to collaborate well with peers and with senior product and technical managers to understand requirements and coordinate deployment of solutions with a focus on end user experience.


  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of managing technical staff, preferably across multiple Infrastructure technologies or services
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks of varying priorities in highly technical environment
  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure technologies, architecture and processes.
  • Strong Relationship building experience in a similar Infrastructure role. Ability to create partnerships with Application Development, Finance, and other internal departments.

Desired but not required:

  • Masters degree in computer science or an MBA.
  • Proven track record of successful performance management and career mentoring of technical resources
  • In depth understanding of software development environments for third party applications, Java, Windows C++, database management and web technologies.
  • Technical certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, ITIL Foundations, ITIL Service Operations
