Senior UX Managers at Cigna / Evernorth are regarded as expert design leaders with strong business and technical acumen. Senior UX Managers are player/coach people managers that lead through example and balance strategy, craft, operational know-how and the soft skills required to succeed in a large complex organization. Senior UX Managers oversee the work of multiple teams. Senior UX Managers also oversee the work of UX contractors and agencies as necessary.


People Management

  • In this role, you will manage 6 designers.
  • The ideal candidate has prior experience as a team lead, mentor or manager.
  • You will help support your team through coaching, design feedback, career advice and performance management.

Design Systems
  • You will act as the Executive Experience Team Lead (XXTL) for the Design System team.
  • While your team focuses on tactical aspects of the current design system, you will help them bring the future vision and Northstar together by working with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Build a vision, roadmap and tactical execution plan with quarterly milestones.

  • The other half of your team will be focused on communications design. Tactically the majority of this work is email design, and the design and management of the email design system.

  • Your teams will largely work on tactical projects focused on delivering in the next 6 months.
  • In parallel, you'll also have your own personal UX projects, which will require you shift gears from people manager to individual contributor.
  • The IC portion of this role will require that you can roll up your sleeves and help solve complex UX problems as a full stack designer.
  • In this portion of the role, you will partner with a broad range of stakeholders from business, technology, brand and marketing.
  • This work will focus on discovery, blue sky thinking and prototyping.


  • Create innovative end-to-end product experiences spanning Mobile, Web, Email, and offline
  • Deliver user-friendly and experientially compelling products that drive business objectives
  • Have strong visual design skill with meticulous attention to details
  • Have strong understanding of user-research and testing methodologies; partners with research team to facilitate tests.
  • Present work to different stakeholders and leadership for review and feedback.
  • Have excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Have professional-level competency in industry-standard design tools
  • Conduct competitive analysis and general market research
  • Facilitate design discussions and ideation sessions
  • Stay current with emerging UX and product design trends and technique and effectively apply them to the work.
  • Share knowledge with other partners on regular basis.
  • Effectively uses organization's standard design system, as well as contribute to it.
  • Work closely with engineering and product partners to ensure faithful execution of project from conception to release, as well as post-release optimization and enhancements.
  • Understand how design is translated into code with common constraints engineers face.


Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience required


15+ years experience as a UX professional with 2-3 years of experience as a manager. Prior experience as a people leader and project lead is required.


Proficient in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Keynote, Powerpoint, Drupal (or similar CMS)
