As a Site Reliability Engineer, you have come up through the ranks as a full-stack engineer and are passionate about automation. You are very opinionated about patterns and practices but pragmatic in your discourse and implementation. You have experience building fully automated, highly elastic, cloud-orchestrated platforms over various IaaS providers like AWS, GCE, and / or Azure, or using on-premise solutions like ICP (IBM Cloud Private). You are driven to constantly make things better.

You see containers as the future of CICD and are familiar with how to orchestrate them with frameworks like Docker and Kubernetes. There is a fine line between configuration management and immutable infrastructure and you know how to walk it. You have a strong grasp of the concept of Infrastructure as Code and believe strongly in it. You believe that programmatic deployment of infrastructure and application is as important as the nature of the application itself. Quality, performance, stability, and reusability are all equally critical for both. You understand that the right data is the key to building great solutions.

 I. Overview:

The Site Reliability Engineers is responsible for availability, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning. He or She will be responsible to deliver automations which makes the MNC systems and platforms more reliable and efficient resulting in the Improved Client Experience.

 II. Responsibilities:

  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services--from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews.
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
  • Scale systems sustainable through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Analyze system problems including root cause determination and manage any needed recovery process to ensure a quick restoration of service without loss of data.
  • Ability to understand the standards of Product Development and recommend changes towards more stability of the products and applications.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • May work together with other staff engaged in similar functions.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 III. Qualifications:

 1. Experience/Skills:

  • Experience working under a Scrum methodology
  • Experience with being a Team Lead
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems through effective customer interface and communication
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Experience managing systems based on SAP applications and Oracle Databases
  • HANA is desirable
  • Unix (preferable Linux), Networking and Security knowledge
  • Ansible, Unix Scripting

 2. Education/Other:

  • College degree or equivalent in education or experience
  • Fluent in English
