Description


Software Developers work as part of a cross-functional Agile Scrum Team focused on delivering state of the art applications for configuring, operating and diagnosing the flagship process control product DeltaV. Development focuses on Microsoft Windows client desktop and Web applications using skills such as MFC, WPF, HTML5, C++, C#, JavaScript, DCOM, WCF and SQL. Quality assurance requires the creation and execution of test plans related to the features delivered by the Scrum Team. The DeltaV system consists of a variety of rich desktop and web applications including some that employ graphical configuration techniques in addition to diagnostic and operator HMI applications.

Responsibilities

  • Successful and independent completion of work with minimal mentoring
  • Demonstrating good collaboration skills and the ability to mentor less experienced team members
  • Requesting feedback on own work and supplying feedback to others
  • Demonstrating technical influence and contributing to technical decision making
  • Enhancing and maintain existing products as well as developing the next generation of applications
  • Working with other members of the Agile Scrum Team and the Scrum Master to plan and deliver committed work for each Sprint.
  • In combination with other Scrum Teams planning and delivering the product features committed into each SAFe Program Increment.
  • Working with the Product Owner and the Human Centered Design team to develop a user experience that meets the acceptance criteria of the User Stories and delights our customers
  • Developing and documenting software designs using Object-Oriented techniques.
  • Implementing and debugging functionality using various tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Managing source code using Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
  • Unit testing and where possible automating new and existing test scripts.
  • Reviewing source code.
  • Designing and executing test cases from a customer perspective.
  • Creating and enhancing test configurations.
  • Discovering, isolating and documenting product defects.
  • Improving product quality by repairing defects.
  • Validating repaired defects/faults.
  • Working with other Scrum Teams to integrate features and test them.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements in support of a continuous improvement culture.

Additional Information
This position will requireoccasionaltravel including internationally.

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Computer Science or related engineering field.
  • 2 years of work experience developing software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with disciplined development practices.
  • Versatility, self-motivation and effective communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft development tools and an understanding of the Windows operating system.
Preferences
  • Knowledge and experience in the process control industry and experience with DeltaV, Controllers and I/O.
  • Experience working across multiple geographic locations (e.g. Americas, Europe, Asia).
  • Experience or familiarity with the DeltaV and DeltaV SIS product lines.
  • Experience or familiarity with the process industries (Refining, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Life Science).
