We are looking for a full-time Software Quality Specialist on the Marine Products team to perform software test case development and testing at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for performing software test case development and testing activities for Garmin products in a team-oriented environment. Other essential functions include:

  • Developing and maintaining test cases as necessary

  • Create test plans that are applicable to each release by working closely with product development teams to ensure quality and usability of Garmin products

  • Execute test cases/scripts as identified per test process using methodologies that include Functional, End to End and Validation testing

  • Analyze test results and users feedback, and communicate with product development teams to assist in problem resolution

  • Analyze test results (also comparing one build to another) to create periodic test reports per test process

  • Participate in the definition of new or improvements of test processes

  • Provide leadership on small to mid-sized projects with responsibilities that include test planning, test activity coordination and reporting test results to development teams

Qualified candidates possess an Associates Degree from a two-year college or technical school or a minimum of 2 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:

  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

  • Must possess relevant experience and/or training in software quality assurance processes and methodologies relevant to Garmins business needs for this role

  • Must possess relevant experience and/or training creating test plans, conducting usability tests, and/or writing test scripts

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

A Bachelors of Science or Arts Degree from a four-year college or university and previous experience job shadowing in a Software Testing team at Garmin is highly preferred!
