What does this role look like?

Responsible for defining, developing and implementation of quality assurance standards and procedures by using various quality control tests and analyses to improve the accuracy of documentation and billing within the business units to ensure performance meet or exceeds the quality standards identified and potential billing errors are identified and corrected prior to issuing invoices.

Some of your main responsibilities will be:

  • Serve as main liaison between 3rd party billing partners and Crowley to ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing.
  • Coordinate with IT any data requirements needed by 3rd party vendors to generate billing.
  • Perform proactive audits of customer accounts, which may include the review of service contracts, bills of lading and demurrage /detention invoices to validate the correct application of rates, free time, and ensure accurate billing.
  • Use quality tools and identified methodologies to determine the root cause of errors and develop various tools and reports to make the auditing process efficient and timely.
  • Monitor customer accounts to identify critical issues by working with Pricing, Customer Care, Sales, Truck Brokerage, Inland Ops and Terminal Ops.
  • Develop and implement action plans to prevent re-occurring issues from resurfacing by working with Pricing, Publishing, IT and Equipment Control departments.
  • Monitor process metrics to identify areas of focus and track improvement trends. Identify training needs and provide/coordinate training accordingly.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field; or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience equal to nine (9) years.
  • 5 years professional experience in transportation and logistics, freight services, pricing or tariff publishing in addition to experience in Process Mapping and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access Project, Power BI, Tableau and SharePoint.

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of hazardous materials, customs warehouse regulations and OSHA requirements preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

  • You will generate reports using a mainframe system, database software, SQL, Power BI and/or Crystal. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives.
