Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees are expected to have in-depth capital markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Individual contributor role. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience. This job code is only to be used for associates supporting Global Markets.

+ As per the description, we place heavy emphasis on the candidate’s background in Reference Data, ability to learn, adapt and work with minimal direct supervision.

+ The tech skills we require are not that common, however the candidate should have a strong background with Markets Reference Data Platforms.

+ To that point, I expect the candidates to be able to have an intelligent conversation about these concepts the first time I speak with them.

+ Minimum of 10 years of heavy, hands-on, software development in a 3rd-gen language (Scala, C++, Java, Python, C#, etc.) is a requirement.

+ We also require the candidates to have a strong understanding of Reference Data Infrastructure, capable of performing data analysis and requirements gathering. Innate ability to learn our technology, business and data acting as a SME.

Job Description:

We are building a new strategic reference data platform for client, account and instrument data. Platforms initial rollouts have been extremely successful and we are looking to expand and extend. We need top-tier Reference Data developers who have a strong and successful track record of solving hard problems and out of the box thinking. We work in a dynamic environment and expect new joiners to be flexible, self-sufficient and learn our business, our data and our technology stack with minimal supervision. They will lead the push for horizontally scalable, high performance applications.

10+ years of Java, Python (or similar) programming,

- Must have hands-on experience in Scala programming ( at least 3+ years)

- Heavy background in Global Markets Reference Data Platforms strongly desired

- Candidate must feel comfortable acting as an SME regarding Reference Data subject matter

- Assist with migration, automation, and development specific to Reference Data platforms

- Exposure to an Agile Reference Data development environment with use of Jira

- Experience working with electronic trading, thorough understanding of equities, debt instruments, futures and options

- Self Starter with the ability to prioritize development pertaining to Reference Data infrastructure

- Expertise with Tibco AMX Business Works , EMS messaging is a must

- Expert level knowledge of RDF, Ontology

- Must have expert knowledge of how Client Reference Data Systems work

- Must understand how Client Data Distribution services (DataSOA ) work

- Must have experience in the finance industry

- Strong verbal and written communication is a must
