Sr. Network Security Engineer Location: Salt Lake City, UT
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for NICE inContact's public and private cloud network security. This position evaluates current and emerging security technologies, collaborating with Network and System teams and other business units within the company to set and implement network security best practices. The Network Security Engineer will set the strategy and standards for the network security of the company's private and public cloud environments.

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the NICE inContact's public and private cloud network security architecture and ensuring network security controls are in place and monitored

This position actively seeks to learn and evaluates emerging security technologies, testing and implementing network security policies, procedures and changes, that will provide advanced optimized secure environments.

This position requires expert knowledge in TCP/IP protocol suite, advanced security configuration of Firewall Dos, DDoS, Threat Analysis and Intrusion Detection and Prevention. Working with SIEMs.

This position requires strong knowledge and experience with both physical data centers and Cloud technologies like AWS and Azure with proven knowledge and experience in Networking, including but not limited to advance routing with BGP and OSPF, Firewall design and policies, VPNs, Load Balancers. This position provides training to other engineers on security best practices and standards.

Acts as an internal consultant role across multiple business units, representing the Cloud Infrastructure team.

As a Sr. Network Security Engineer, a Typical Day Might Include the Following:

  • Research and evaluation of Security technologies, to address current and future needs.
  • Design and set the network security standards for all network infrastructure devices
  • Implement security configuration standards
  • Produce and present security reports to management
  • Manage security vulnerabilities and compliance
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to address security vulnerabilities
  • Escalation point for help in deep analysis and problem solving when needed
  • May be required to function as a technical lead on projects of any size as necessary.
  • Communicates detailed technical information in both written and verbal form across a wide range of audiences, including business stakeholders, users, developers, project management, and other architects and engineers
  • Collaborates with colleagues, customers, vendors, and other parties to understand and develop security solutions
  • Develops a sound understanding of existing systems and processes, their strengths and limitations, and the current and future needs of the environment in which they exist. Provides vision on how they may be improved and developed.
  • Understands and explains the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluates the security impact of changes or additions to the environment.
  • Participates in the evaluation and/or selection of solutions or security products.
  • Acts as a local expert for areas of domain expertise.
  • Performs other duties as required.

To Land This Gig You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or similar field of study, or extensive work experience as a network engineer or architect.
  • 8+ years work experience within an internetworking environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of network devices, technologies and protocols
  • Extensive knowledge of security devices, technologies and protocols
  • Monitoring solutions
  • Experience with the following network devices and protocols:
    • Routers, Switches, Load Balancers
    • BGP, OSPF
    • SNMP
    • TCP/IP protocol suite
  • Experience with the following security devices, technology and protocols:
    • Firewalls, VPN, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
    • Cryptography, encryption
    • DoS and DDoS solutions
    • IPsec, PKI, SSL/TLS
    • RAIDUS, Authentication, SNMPv3, DNSSEC
    • SIEM
    • Security Management System
    • Monitoring solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Bonus Experience:
  • Experience with the following Vendors is Preferred;
  • Firemon, CyberReason, Darktrace or other Security Management Systems
  • Palo Alto, F5, Arista, Cisco
  • Logic Monitor, SolarWinds, BMC, SalesForce, RemedyForce
  • Experience with public cloud technologies: AWS, Azure
  • Scripting experience with JSON/YMAL, Python, Ruby, Ansible , CHEF
