Job Description

The IT Performance and Effectiveness team is a collaborative entity that engages across the business and serves as the conduit between the various K-C stakeholders, business leaders and project teams for IT. Ensuring that activities are aligned to the business objectives set forth in the insight stage, this team provides benefit targeting, tracking and measuring to demonstrate value created through IT initiatives and programs. As part of this team, the Senior Product Management Coach will lead K-C IT transition from a project to product centric organization and be the co-owner of the K-C Product Management Framework within IT. More specifically, the role will provide guidance to Product Managers and Product Owners on project to product migration plan, product management training and ongoing coaching . Role will monitor effectiveness of KC IT product management and bring industry best practice to drive continuous improvement to K-C IT product management practices.


  • Role will report to the Metrics and Methodology Leader. Role will be an individual contributor
  • Key Interfaces: CIO, IT Senior Leadership Team, Global IT Leadership, Regional & Functional Subject Matter Experts.
  • External Interfaces: Industry Consultants such as CEB, BCG, Gartner
  • Travel may include approximately 15-20% of work time.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide one on one coaching for Product Managers specifically related to market research & validation, segmentation, personas, customer journeys, problem statements, market needs, product vision, business cases, MVPs, roadmaps, driving product adoption
  • Provide thought-leadership and guide enterprise through transformation from project centric to product centric IT organization
  • Further develop and maintain long-term vision / maturity roadmap for K-C Product Management Framework and related deliverables
  • Provide training and coaching to IT Sr Leadership, product managers, product owners, and teams migrating from project to product execution
  • Monitor effectiveness of product management practices and drive continuous improvement to K-C product management framework and practices, includes the implementation of new product management practices
  • Provide guidance on how K-C product teams will monitor outcomes and value realization
  • Directly influence leadership (up to executive levels) and their teams throughout ITS (infrastructure, applications teams, business partners, Strategy/Innovation/Architecture, Cyber Security and Assurance) to drive adoption of Product thinking
  • Build Product Management capability globally
  • Mentor developing Product Management coaches
  • Engage with external Product Management guilds to further research, learning insuring product management framework is aligned with industry standards
  • Drivethe evolution of K-C IT product taxonomy
  • Establish guidelines and benchmarks for Product Management practices
  • Report to management on the evolution of Product Management within K-C IT organization

Key Qualifications and Experiences:

  • B.A. or B.S./M.S. (Advanced degree preferred) in a relevant field; 12+ years of Professional experience with a minimum of 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • +10 years IT delivery experience
  • +4 years working as Product Management
  • +2 years working as Product Owner (preferred)
  • +4 years working in an Agile Software Delivery Environment
  • +2 years providing coaching Product Management
  • +2 years experience working with organization migrating from project to product execution
  • Experience working with organization focused on digital transformation
  • Experience working with Agile Project Teams and Agile Product Teams
  • Experience developing and deploying global methodologies in a large organization
  • Experience driving execution via performance measurement, benchmarking
  • Expert problem-solving ability and experience leading groups through problem solving methodology
  • Prior accountabilities that required influencing leaders outside of administrative authority; Strong leadership skills with emphasis on communications and partner management
  • Strong Virtual meeting facilitation, interpersonal communication, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Product Management, Agile Execution, Strategy Deployment, and Continuous Improvement

Preferred Experiences:

  • IT application services delivery experience; Product Manager Certification; Product Owner Certification
