About the Opportunity

The Consumable Developer Platforms department has an immediate opening for a Sr Product Manager, reporting to the Product Line Manager. The Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of one or more digital products to maximize business results that will position the technology solutions of the Federal Reserve. This includes translating customer needs and uncovers key problems that can be solved by their product. Establishes the product vision and strategy to solve customer problems and meet organizational goals. Work closely with vendors to align product roadmaps with vendor roadmaps. Work closely with the Product Owners to sets the goals, defines success, and help motivate teams to deliver successful outcomes. Drives product vision to reality. The Product Manager will lead the Low Code Application Platform product team in support of Salesforce and Power Platform technologies.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinates with Product Line Manager and product delivery teams in support of the delivery of large-scale products. Establishes strategic product roadmaps and long-term vision that support the business goals and deliver value to customers.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to product team staff in areas focused on business-based product management associated with FRS technology products and solutions.
  • Articulates core value proposition of the overall solution, identifying individual feature benefits to support value proposition fulfillment. Represents product value proposition and business viability to inform and influences support for fulfilling
  • Leads product team to deliver solutions customers find valuable and engaging. Determines optimal approach for managing products by influencing strategic direction that affects product progression and achievement of goals. Incumbents continually manage products throughout lifecycle including inception, planning, delivery and retirement, etc. Receives guidance from product leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Manage individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, performance issues and appraisals, and pay reviews. Performs additional incidental duties as assigned.
  • Ensures delivery of quality product(s) and monitors the market to develop competitive analyses. Demonstrates expertise in market problems addressed by assigned product set, effectively representing the voice of the customer from product vision through product roadmap. Responsible for the creative process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas.
  • Oversees the execution and adherence of policies, procedures and processes for NIT, ensuring the strategies and activities are consistent with the business objectives and goals.
  • Manages product budget and leads development of funding and pricing strategies processes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle, including launch through retirement. Collaborates with marketing, architecture and UX experts to design and implement various product adoption strategies for new and existing customers. Ensures all channels of product engagement from design through market adoption are equipped and enabled to maximize product success.
  • Consults with Division management on divisional strategies and organization, leadership, and staff performance matters. Areas of activity include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributors, training and development programs to help position staff for success and more significant responsibilities and to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the Federal Reserve System and National IT. Key participant in performing personnel actions (i.e., hiring, terminations, promotions, performance appraisal, and training).
  • Participates in the department's resource management process. Plans and executes a course of action based on sound business decisions and works to effectively identify potential cost-saving opportunities and resolve resource constraints. Improves and supports business activities through ensuring objectives, goals and client needs are met.
  • Creates alignment across larger teams to empower independent decision making.


  • Knowledge of low code application platform products and strategies; Salesforce and Power Platform preferred
  • Product management knowledge and expertise. Expertise in development and use of product roadmaps and product visions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to lead within an agile environment; comfort leveraging agile lean portfolio management methods. Advanced business and financial acumen. Technical acumen and knowledge relevant to their product and team.
  • Experience with relevant products. Possesses and applies a high degree of subject matter expertise; continually strives to build on this knowledge to produce results that meet customer needs and NIT goals and objectives. Advanced working knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.
  • Demonstrated management-level expertise to effectively direct functions in in a rapidly growing business environment.
  • Influences others to gain support for ideas or accept a desired course of action. Shapes the direction of others and motivates through inspiring commitment, trust, and respect.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail (compliance), and negotiation skills to interpret results, develop communications and recommend improvements.
  • Able to present information within all settings in a credible, confident and influential manner.
  • Communicates in a concise, direct and purposeful way.
  • Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to interact with anticipated audiences in a courteous, service-oriented manner.
  • Responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline to ensure appropriate controls and risk management throughout area of responsibility.
  • Works independently on broad assignments or under general directions as to scope or objectives.
  • Responsible for planning and performance with no guidance or assistance on professional aspects of work except under unusual circumstances.
  • Schedules daily work and provides direction to assigned staff, trains and evaluates performance. Makes recommendations on hiring decisions and salary administrations and disciplinary actions.
  • Develops operating plans and priorities that will be reviewed by officers and executed by direct reports.


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/Master's Degree may be preferred with 10+ years of relevant work experience / 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Product Manager certification strongly preferred.
