PPG is currently in search of a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join our Architectural Coatings business. This role will report to the Sr. Manager-Demand Planning & be based out of Cranberry Township, PA.

Job Summary :

The Senior Supply Chain Specialist works cross functionally with Supply Chain & various business line functions (Marketing, Finance, Sales, etc.) to develop and maintain a Channel-SKU-DC level forecast which is used by internal customers (Supply and Distribution Planning, Manufacturing) to develop production and deployment action plans to support customer shipment requirements. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist supports strategic project analysis, new product launch/exit requirements, and the S&OP/IBP process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Strategic Projects :

  • Present sales, order, and market trend analysis, conclusions and recommendations to management and functions in support of customer, product, market, inventory and production planning activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams as needed.
  • Additional ad-hoc reporting, analysis, & projects as needed.

Lead consensus process for specific Business Channel(s):
  • Develop consensus deck and input sales and forecast data for monthly consensus meeting.
  • Lead monthly consensus meetings with senior Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain Planning, and Finance management to develop consensus demand for Supply Chain Sales & Operations Planning.
  • Feed final consensus deck data into S&OP deck
  • Update volumes in SAP/APO

Manage and maintain forecasts for specific Business Channel(s):
  • Run statistical forecasts models; update manual forecasts for job demand, promotions, launches, etc.; maintain forecasts for active channel SKUs at the DC level.
  • Remove non-active SKU forecasts as required.
  • Participate in forecast improvement initiatives with functional team participants.

Reporting :
  • Run weekly service reports which provide a full overview of any issues surrounding finished goods from the prior week for a specific channel(s).
  • Run weekly consumption reports which provide overview of demand higher or lower to consensus and detail view of higher or lower to specific SKU / DC forecasts.
  • Pull data from SAP, Microsoft Access, and SAP BI when necessary for any inventory analysis or requests from other departments.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Create, monitor and take action against forecast accuracy measures including MAPE, Bias, and trend consumption tracking.
  • Participate in educational training programs, which result in improved effectiveness and personal growth.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Demand planning, supply chain, or analytical role.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience and knowledge of Demand Planning techniques are critical.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively without close supervision.
  • Strong math and analytical skills to identify and interpret data trends in market segment, product mix, customer and geographic sales and ordering demand history streams to support business analysis and to plan future sales and order demand with greater accuracy.
