Arcadis is seeking to hire a Stormwater Transportation Engineer to join our growing design group in the Southeast. Under the direction of the Senior Stormwater Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that will challenge you and provide growth in your career. This position may be in any Arcadis office in the following states: FL, GA, NC, OH, TN, or TX

This position requires attention to detail, exceptional organization skills, strong work ethic, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible, possessing the initiative and ability to take on new projects/ challenges regularly and balance multiple assignments/ activities to meet project deadlines.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engineering design for numerous roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and bridge replacements across the southeast.
  • Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, post-construction water quality structures design, and erosion and sedimentation control.
  • Prepare construction plans, project displays, cost estimates, reports and technical memos.
  • Utilize various design software including MicroStation, Inroads, GeoPak, Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Microsoft Excel, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-MS, HY8, FlowMaster, Pond Pack, CulvertMaster, ICPR SMS, SRH2D and StormCAD to assist with the design and preparation of construction plans.
  • Work efficiently both independently, with little supervision, and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Communicate effectively (both through written and verbal methods) with internal and external stakeholders
  • Complete a wide range of tasks in both office and field settings

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related field
  • 2 or more years' relevant experience in engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with software platforms such as Bentley's StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, and Pond Pack, HEC-RAS, HEC-MS, HY8, ICPR, and/or SWMM.

Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT Certification
  • Prior experience with drainage design
