Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Supports Global Program Management (GPM) and TAU Business Operations team to provide project management (PM) systems maintenance, program and operational coordination support. Manages aggregation and reporting of program information to support routine and ad hoc requirements.

  • Interfaces with GPM team and other functions (e.g., Clinical Operations) to maintain accurate timeline information in PM system (MS Project Online) including key project milestones, pipeline goals, and R&D KPIs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Interfaces with TAU GPM and Business Operations teams to provide system-generated data and ensure accuracy in routine or ad hoc reporting (e.g. pipeline status reports to support Pipeline Review Forum)
  • Proactively identifies data integration issues and manages troubleshooting to resolution with key technical stakeholders
  • May provide individual program support to generate minutes, tracks action items and coordinates meetings (varies by program and complexity)
  • Work with other Global Program Support Specalists and/or Business Operations team to optimize existing or implement new processes to better support project teams and the broader organization
  • May support presentation content and documentation development as needed
  • May provide additional ad hoc tactical support to GPM team and/or Business Operations as needed

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship.
  • Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelors degree and have completed at least their sophomore year or be a graduate level student pursuing either a PharmD or Masters degree
  • For Bachelors and Masters degree students, a major in a healthcare, pharmacy or life science field is preferred.
  • Must be deadline driven and have a high level of organizational and planning skills
  • The ideal candidate exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills; he or she also possesses the ability to work well in teams, effectively manage multiple projects, and present ideas clearly and concisely.
