Job Summary:

The IEEE Human Resources Department is looking for a mature graduate student pursuing a post graduate degree in Human Resources to provide project based research, analysis and preparation of various business proposals for execution and implementation. The Intern will liaison with various HR functional areas to include but not limited to Benefits, Talent Acquisition, HRIS & Analytics, Compensation, Learning & Development and Employee Relations.

Responsibilities may include the following:

Support the Taleo ATS integration project by assisting in user acceptance testing
Assist with event planning for the Human Resources Learning & Development Fair which may include participation in Higher Education Week partnering with local colleges and universities.
Work on compensation projects which may involve job description reviews, data audits, organizing data files, updating HRIS and survey management database, running reports, and basic analytics
Work on benefits projects which may involve Plan audits, international benefits survey analysis, assisting with HRIS testing, and basic analytics
Conduct initial telephone screening interviews for external applicants
Under general direction, develop customized interview guides for hiring managers
Other responsibilities may be assigned as required


Must be in an accredited college or university pursuing or recently graduated from a post graduate program in Human Resources
Must be able to work on-site for 40 hours per week between June through August
Confidentiality of employee and other confidential information is a must
Must have proven strong academic performance
Must have excellent writing and composition skills
Proven strong project management skills
Technically savvy strong knowledge of standard software applications including MS Office, Google, Email, Internet Explorer and Windows and possess the skills to quickly learn various software programs and databases
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and oral and written communication skills
Flexibility to adapt to frequent change
Demonstrated leadership experience
