$1,402.42 – $2,103.65 per week ($72,926 - $109,390 est. annually)

The San Mateo County Transit District is the administrative body for public transit and transportation programs in San Mateo County, California: SamTrans bus service, Redi-Wheels paratransit service, Caltrain commuter rail service and the managing agency for the San Mateo County Transportation Authority. The District transports approximately 32 million customers a year and is one of the nation’s top transit agencies. We seek a Supervisor of Facilities Maintenance who will supervise the general maintenance and repair of the SamTrans buildings and grounds. The supervisor will be responsible for scheduling, directing, and monitoring a building maintenance facilities maintenance program; ensuring compliance of SamTrans’ facility maintenance program pertinent to building codes, state and federal regulations, and guidelines; evaluating their impact and implement policy and procedure improvements; coordinating with public and private organizations or individuals to explain or coordinate facility maintenance programs; responding to internal and external stakeholder’s complaints or inquiries; assisting in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the Facility Maintenance Department; and making periodic inspection of facility maintenance work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with established standards.

 

Other duties include: obtaining quotes, making recommendations on award of bids and/or contracts, and preparing purchase requisitions for facility projects; scheduling, overseeing, and coordinating the work and activities done by contractors on facility maintenance projects; monitoring and inspecting the contractor’s performance for compliance with project scope, schedule, goals, and objectives; problem solving with contractors on day-to-day issues; utilizing a facilities work order management software system to assign work, analyze work orders, review current project schedules, and to distribute work accordingly amongst the Facility Maintenance Technicians to maximize efficiency in staff utilization; advising and instructing staff on the safe and effective completion of assignments; interfacing with internal stakeholders regarding costing and implementation of minor construction/repair and maintenance projects; and maintaining inventory and requisition supplies and equipment.

 

The ideal candidate must possess a certificate in Facility Maintenance Engineering, Facility Management, or a closely related field with five years of experience in building maintenance, facility management, or related activities, plus one year of lead or supervisory experience as well. Must possess a valid California Driver License, with a safe driving record. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Project management experience is desired. Must possess basic knowledge of Word and Excel. Associate’s degree in Facility Maintenance Engineering, Facility Management, or a closely related field is desired.
