The Systems Administrator is a member of the Telecom Team, which is part the Best Buy Digital and Technology team, and End User Technologies team. The Telecom Team provides telephony design, engineering, and support for the entire Best Buy Enterprise. The responsibilities of this role include; project management, project coordination, business relationship management, systems management, telecom circuit order management, system and project report development, process improvement and telecom team admin support.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Assistance with overall project management and communication, including;
    • Create and manage project plans and schedules
    • Create status reports and standard documentation templates to comply with Best Buys PMO standards (SDLC)
    • Facilitate meetings to ensure deadlines are being met
    • Follow up with team members to ensure tasks are complete and timelines are met
    • Develop and execute training plans
  • Provide end to end project management and ownership for telephony projects
  • Telecom circuit order management
  • War Room management, oversight, and set-up
  • Provide end to end project management and ownership for telephony projects
  • Develop, communicate and train corporate employees on enterprise policies, standards and best practices various End User Technology Services capabilities.
  • Complete cross training activities for the various desktop platforms to serve as a backup to primary platform owners.
  • Responsible for the execution of IT strategy including hitting deadlines and achieving goals.
Basic Requirements:
  • 3 or more years of project coordination experience
  • 2 or more years of experience managing projects, including managing technology implementations
  • 2 or more years interfacing with and managing third-party vendors
  • 1 or more years of experience working in telecom
  • Proficient at creating reports ServiceNow
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
  • Proficient with MS Project
  • Proficient with WebEx Administrative functions
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience facilitating meetings with cross-functional teams
  • Experience and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Proven ability to self-manage
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the retail industry
  • Experience in a large enterprise support environment
  • 4 year college degree
  • Experience with QA and UAT test cycles
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative, eagerness to learn, and ability to work independently within a team structure
  • Conveys a strong sense of accountability, urgency and drives issues to closure
  • Displays initiative, seeks out and seizes opportunities
