The Systems Integrator will provide support to the customer in managing the overall translation workflow for foreign language documents for use by translators in Computer Assisted Translations (CAT) tools. This include assessing new tools for implantation into the translation process. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting in the developing governance processes, procedures, and workflow management processes
  • Maintain a strong awareness of technical trends in information technology, develop and maintain a strong awareness of on-going IT projects, and business unit requirements;
  • Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects.
  • Reformatting Chinese-language documents for translators and CAT tools. This would involve OCRing PDF documents, recognizing and correcting OCR mistakes in the Chinese, reformatting or removing the Chinese from graphics, preparing documents for use in CAT tools, and aligning translation memories.
  • Reformatting Microsoft Office files (docx, xlsx, pptx).
  • Ensuring that all graphics have live text and can be easily manipulated by translators and CAT tools.
  • Helping to maintain complex folder structures for projects, tools, and assignments.
  • Updating and maintaining multiple databases to properly track status and time spent on projects.
  • Working with colleagues and external stakeholders to design new work-flows and recommending new digital tools to improve the efficiency of the translation process.


Required Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with poly clearance required
  • Proficient in PC applications such MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with optical character recognition (OCR) processes and Adobe acrobat Pro.
  • Knowledge of image processing software such as Adobe PhotoShop, Hypersnap, IrfanView, or Microsoft Paint
  • Basic familiarity with computer science and graphic design
  • Familiarity with CAT tools or willing to learn.
  • Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chinese reading skills at Level-2 or above
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
  • Background in computer science and graphic design
  • Experience managing large data sets
