Job Description

Essential Functions

LanguageLine leads the development and delivery of language communications solutions supporting 25,000 global customers across healthcare, financial, commercial and mission critical public utility sectors. Our Technology Team is implementing a next generation Cloud-enabled technology platform supporting voice, video, mobile and text interpreter/translation services. This position involves regular communication with senior management and business stakeholders and is accountable for driving the requirements, planning, execution and delivery of our technical projects. Leadership and initiative will be key traits needed. Projects may be software development or network or platform/infrastructure related. This will include working with end users to ensure business needs are defined and met and ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.

This Technology Project Manager/Business Analyst hybrid role will manage or partner with other Technology and Business Project Managers leading different work streams to deliver a given project or program. The Technology Project Manager/Business Analyst will work with projects to ensure coordination, scoping, requirements gathering, planning and execution is managed and planned and contingency and mitigation plans are in place as required

This position is required to work at our company headquarters in Monterey, California.

  • Provide leadership and ensure project teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across all project phases
  • Proven success at being able to quickly bring together teams and lead work to deliver high priority and/or strategic projects.
  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative in approaching new projects and in problem solving.
  • Guide the team through the development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively
  • Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software and hardware availability
  • Work cross functionally to manage program scope, risks, dependencies, and drive issues to resolution.

Additional Functions

  • Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place
  • Task allocation and schedule tracking of team members tasks
  • Project scheduling and resource management
  • Plan, budget and report on projects
  • Meet with stakeholders, gather requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress
  • Estimate project budgets, coordinate with finance department for funds and plan for purchasing of equipment and hardware in a cost-effective way
  • Collaborate with technical resources to develop workable solutions that meet customer expectations.
  • Provide an efficient working atmosphere to project teams and ensure objectives are met within stipulated time
  • Identifies and develops contingency plans to mitigate and address risks
  • Track projects against major milestones and adjust projects as needed
  • Communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders on key project objectives and steps, to ensure buy-in and to realize benefits
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10-12 years progressive, hands on experience as a technical project manager with business analysis responsibilities and/or business analyst experience.
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Scrum/Agile Certification preferred or commensurate software development management experience.
  • Extensive experience planning and managing projects within various SDLC methodologies (i.e. Agile, Scrum and Waterfall)
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional, cross-disciplinary project management/project leadership on large-scale corporate/enterprise-wide software development projects
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and negotiating with managers and executives
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and guiding employees in areas related to organizational development and process improvement
  • Demonstrated experience managing organizational development and change management communication issues
  • Proven strength in positions of leadership

  • Occasionally requires standing and walking.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity type in all Microsoft platforms.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
