This position is within PRT Client Services, located in Scranton PA. The Technical Specialist role is in the New Business team which supports the on-boarding of new clients for domestic PRT markets and the international Longevity Reinsurance market. The New Business team interacts extensively with clients, intermediary advisors, and international business partners. The New Business team is a critical contributor to the first impression that Pru makes with new clients. The responsibilities for this role include:

  • Participate in the Pre Sale/Path to Close process including reviewing legal documents, proposals/bid specs, and other documents to identify administrative challenges and solutions

  • Review client provided tools (generally Excel), models, and samples and assess our processes for servicing the transaction

  • Lead the development of complex user computing spreadsheets (Excel) to ensure calculations and compares are performed accurately and efficiently; Develop test plans and oversee testing for new tools developed; Maintain and update tools developed

  • Create Claims Summaries to document the procedures for the on-going administration for new transactions

  • Perform longevity reinsurance tasks through on-boarding including initial cleanse, data review, true-up, and reconciliations

  • Analyze risk and propose business solutions for the on-boarding of new transactions and report to various levels of management

  • Provide support as needed to the internal business teams for transactions recently on-boarded to understand processes, calculations, and other administrative items

  • Participate in client visits

  • Work on specials projects as needed

  • Support audit work and participate in risk activities including RCSA refreshes

  • Support technology builds for New Business as SME and/or tester as needed

  • BS Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 2 years PRT and/or LRT experience preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills
    • Developing macros and work with visual basics a plus

  • Must have a solid understanding of PRT and/or LRT operations and processes

  • Ability to interpret legal documents and propose modification

  • Discretion to deal with confidential information

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Problem solving ability

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to foster relationships

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Flexible with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
