Task Description:



Tools and Parts Attendant (21210): Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment. The Tools and Parts Attendant does the following keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment; visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors; coats tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and attaches identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.



Additional Requirements: Shall be proficient performing all operator, data entry, and retrieval functions. Transmits and receives data via disk, modem, and other electronic means. Extracts data, formulates and interprets management reports, creates archives, backups, and data saves in support of deployments and detachment operations. Performs a wide range of administrative and financial duties within the Material Control Division such as preparing reportsand correspondence, filing and typing. Performs tool room management IAW Tool Control Program (acting as Tool Control Program Coordinator), Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program, and Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL) Program Coordinator. Performs Hazardous Material Control and Management Supervisor requirements.



Skill and Knowledge:



  • Good working knowledge of U.S. Navy policies, methods, and technical publications.

  • Familiar with standard aviation hand tools, special tools, test sets, kits and outfits.

  • Must have knowledge of tool control accountability procedures.

  • Must have a working knowledge of the governing systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.

  • Overall knowledge of an aviation tool room to include research, demand processing, issuing, storage, and handling of tools and parts.

Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs inventories of repair parts and general supplies. Procures, receives, stores and issues material and repair components.Utilizes financial accounting and database systems. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.



Task Requirements:



  1. Tool Room:The Contractor shall manage the Tool Room and ensure Tool Room services are performed IAW governing directives by ensuring all inspection standards are met. Tool room management includes:



Tool Room NAMP Programs:The Contractor shall be responsible for the Tool Control Program (acting as Tool Control Program Coordinator), Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program, Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL) Program Coordinator, Support Equipment (SE) PMS Program and work center management IAW CNAF Instruction 4790.2.





Issue/Receive Tools, Equipment and Hazardous Material/Waste:The Contractor shall Order/Issue/Receive tools, inventory and maintain tools, and issue/receive/properly handle hazardous materials/waste per activitys Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and local governing directives.





Tool and Equipment Maintenance:Repairs, periodic maintenance and calibration of all Support Equipment (SE), IMRL, and calibration-required tools shall be performed at the appropriate level of maintenance. Base support equipment I-level facilities and calibration laboratories are available to provide I-level and Depot level support as required.

  9. Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:



  1. Previous experience in the Naval Aviation maintenance environment performing tools and parts attendant responsibilities.

BasicQualifications:



  1. Must be able to work day or nightshift schedule as required IAW PWS.

  2. Must be able to work M-F or as required IAW PWS.

  3. Must be able to pass a background check.

  4. All Contractors are required to have a Common Access Card (CAC) and shall be required to pass the equivalent of a trustworthy National Agency Check plus Written Inquiries with Credit Check (NACI), IAW DTM-08-003 Next Generation Common Access Card (CAC) Implementation Guidance, or latest guidance, at no additional cost to the Government, prior to being allowed to work.

  5. Must be able to climb ladders, and raised platforms.

  6. Must have dexterity to handle small parts.

  7. Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned.

  8. Must complete Airfield Safety/Vehicle Operator training within 90 days of hire.

Employment is contingent on a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
