Primary Purpose

Are you a talented and creative video editor and animator? Do you make amazing graphics for TV and digital? If so, you might have a home in Cincinnati. WCPO is looking for someone to take storytelling to the next level through animation, video, digital graphics and more. WCPO is a unique newsroom with journalists from a variety of backgrounds. We need someone to help make these powerful and incredible stories even more compelling.

Key Activities

• Capture visual content and edit long-form stories and daily news magazine storiesas needed
• Work with producers, multi-media journalists and photojournalists to ensure a high quality product consistent with news magazine's brand
• Responsible for operating various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to video camera and video editing equipment
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to the television station Web site
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Reacts to breaking news on an immediate basis.
• Gathers story related materials (sound and video) on a timely basis.
• Coordinates remote and studio events, creating synergy between remote and studio productions.
• Collaborates with affiliates on breaking news stories, sharing of information.
• Maintain video archive filing system
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned

Skills

• Proficiency in non-linear, editing, including Final Cut Pro.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to the television station Web site
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
