As a key member of the Human Resources (HR) Executive Leadership Team, the VP, HR Strategic Business Partnerships is responsible for developing and overseeing the service delivery model of HR at an enterprise level. The incumbent creates structure, process, and an accountability model that will advance the overall HR strategy in support of enterprise mission, vision, goals, and objectives; and considers the unique need of each business area in doing so.

The incumbent oversees the talent management business partner function, HR community engagement efforts and special projects including large scale enterprise-wide growth initiatives, business strategy and diversification planning to closely align HR strategies with business strategy. The incumbent is responsible for the overall execution and delivery of corporate HR strategies within the enterprise and ensuring appropriate application in all functional areas. This will include a very tight partnership with all HR centers of excellence to execute on leadership development, coaching, culture advancement, workforce and talent planning, organizational design, and consultation; all in alignment with the corporate talent management function.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities

In alignment and support of the overall HR short-term and long-term strategy, this role is responsible for setting the strategy and direction for an effective HR service delivery model enterprise wide. Creates clarity, consistency, and alignment for the overall function both within the organization and within Human Resources division.

Leads a team of HR business partners responsible for deploying corporate HR strategies within the enterprise, ensuring appropriate communication, change management and execution and enabling a closed feedback loop back into human resources.

Collaborates closely with the center of excellence (COE) leaders in Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Employee Relations, Benefits & Wellness and Compensation, Workforce Analytics and HR Technology areas to establish clear process and structure to enable consistent and clear day-to-day operations across the HR function.

Creates a vision for leveraging business partnerships to advance organizational performance. Develops and nurtures close connections with local employers for talent management networking as well as local and national HR organizations such as NHRA and SHRM.

Acts as an integral part of, and trusted advisor to, the Health Plan Executive Leadership Team by developing effective working relationships, influencing, and challenging the team. Ensures the development and delivery of their talent plans in support of the achievement of the enterprise, business area, and HR goals.

Leads all cultural and HR implementation efforts for large organizational changes, special projects, and growth initiatives.

Maintains an understanding of the organization's culture, position in the marketplace, short- and long-range goals, and strategic plan to assess and anticipate talent-related needs. Participates in or leads business projects relying on critical business acumen.

Assesses and builds upon current strategies in alignment with our Lifetime Way values and behaviors in support of our enterprise strategies.

Champions the organization's journey in building a diverse workforce and a culture of inclusion.

Maintains knowledge of HR industry trends, legislative and regulatory updates and advises corporate and HR leadership on needed actions.

Maintains in depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to employment law to resolve complex employee relations issues and reduce potential risk to the business.

Conducts periodic staff meetings to include timely distribution and education related to departmental and Ethics/Compliance information.

Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Performs other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in HR or other relevant area. Healthcare experience strongly preferred.

Formal leadership experience at an executive level required.

Bachelor's degree, Masters or advance degree preferred.

Track record for establishing and building high performing teams in a fast paced and multi-faceted work environment.

High level of personal accountability, ethical standards, professional maturity, and ability to exercise discretion and judgment in complex situations.

Sound judgment, analytical skills, project management skills, and ability to work in a matrix environment and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously to plan and accomplish goals and objectives.

Superior communication skills - both verbal and written.

Ability to engage in difficult but necessary conversations in a direct, open and honest way. Influences others.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel across the Health Plan service regions as necessary.
