Description
Job Summary:The Associate Director Fraternity/Sorority Life is responsible for providing strategic oversight of fraternity and sorority housing operations, residential programs, and facilities initiatives. The position leads management of the FSL residential portfolio, supervises live-in staff, collaborates with campus partners to maintain and enhance facilities, and support community accountability within the residential environment. The Associate Director assists the Director in overall management of the fraternity/sorority system, assumes leadership in the Director's absence, and leads department-wide projects related to housing and residential initiatives.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
1. Provides strategic oversight of 25 fraternity and sorority housing facilities by establishing repair and replacement schedules; monitoring quality control of work performed by internal and external partners; resolving operational issues; maintaining facility records; and implementing new procedures to support long-term residential sustainability.
2. Collaborates with campus partners, including Student Affairs Facilities and University Facilities, to develop short- and long-term project plans for facility improvements and assists the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life in prioritizing capital and maintenance projects.
3. Establishes collaborative relationships with inter/national organizations, local housing corporations, Advisors, and related stakeholders to ensure proper facility management and shared accountability for FSL chapter facilities.
4. Maintains working knowledge of StarRez Housing Management software to run occupancy reports, monitor assignments, analyze trends, and assist with housing technology-related issues.
5. Performs routine assessment of the FSL residential community, including occupancy reporting, evaluation of residential programs and trainings, and analysis of facility utilization.
6. Manages systems necessary to maintain a robust FSL residential community, including the learning management system, on-call rotation of live-in staff, and ongoing training and professional development for residential staff.
7. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training Graduate Hall Directors and summer graduate interns serving within FSL housing facilities.
8. Promotes graduate student success by supervising Graduate Hall Directors; planning and implementing national recruitment efforts for the Division of Student Affairs related to graduate assistant roles; and developing ongoing professional development and assessment protocols.
9. Provides overall supervisory direction of Graduate Hall Directors in collaboration with professional staff members.
10. Oversees conduct and accountability processes for the FSL residential community, including coordination of student conduct processes for fraternity and sorority residents.
11. Manages student emergencies and problems by counseling students; making referrals to appropriate parties such as other student staff; University Police, alumni, Chapter Advisors, National Offices, parents and the Dean of Students; managing student judicial process for fraternity and sorority residents; serves in the Dean on-call rotation.
12. Manages the on-call emergency response system for Graduate Hall Directors by coordinating schedules, reviewing incidents, and providing ongoing training related to emergency response and crisis management. Serves on University committees as needed.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
• Master's degree in higher education or related field.
• 4 years' professional experience in higher education or a related field or a combination of professional experience and undergraduate leadership experience.

• Housing and/or Fraternity and Sorority Life experience.

• Knowledge of communication, mediation and interpersonal techniques.

• Skill in Microsoft Windows navigation.
