Job Summary
Thornburg Investment Management is seeking a Head of Enterprise Data & Analytics to build and lead a newly formed enterprise data function. This senior leader will establish firmwide data governance, data quality standards, and investment analytics methodology across all asset classes, ensuring trusted, consistent data for internal and external stakeholders.
This role combines deep investment data expertise with the ability to set strategy, influence across teams, and build scalable data capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s enterprise data governance program, including data standards, ownership, quality controls, and authoritative data sources (“book of record”).
- Define and enforce data quality rules, lineage documentation, and certification standards for critical investment and business data.
- Own investment analytics, performance measurement, and attribution methodology, including firmwide GIPS compliance.
- Validate security-level analytics, pricing, classifications, and derived metrics; oversee monthly and quarterly performance processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for institutional investment data and analytics platforms and key system integrations.
- Partner with Investment, Risk, IT, Operations, Marketing, and Compliance to align data strategy with business needs
- Lead evaluation and ongoing management of data and analytics vendors, including quality, cost, and service standards.
- Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise data and analytics roadmap aligned with firm strategy.
- Build, mentor, and manage a small team of senior data and analytics professionals.
Requirements
Required
- 10+ years of experience in investment data, performance measurement, analytics, and data governance within asset management.
- CFA or CIPM designation.
- Deep knowledge of GIPS standards, performance measurement, and attribution methodologies.
- Strong expertise with institutional investment data platforms (e.g., FactSet PA/SPAR or equivalent).
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders across functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in a quantitative or finance-related discipline.
- Experience with municipal bond analytics and multi-asset portfolios.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and modern data pipelines.
- Experience working with order management systems and vendor data providers.
