Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianReports To: Operations Manager
Location: Grand Prairie, TXPosition OverviewThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of CNC production equipment and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role places a strong emphasis on CNC preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and building systems upkeep, supporting continuous production and minimizing unplanned downtime.The technician will maintain and service CNC equipment (Cutworx, TPS, Zund), Astro gluers, heating and forming equipment, dies and punches, and associated mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems. In addition, this role supports facility maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and light fabrication to support production needs.Key Responsibilities1. CNC & Production Equipment Maintenance (Primary Focus)Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on CNC machines, digital flatbed cutters, glue machines and applicators, ovens, hydraulic presses, and related production equipment.Execute corrective maintenance to diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore equipment to service using manuals, schematics, and manufacturer technical support.Support light CNC setup, operation, and basic programming adjustments as needed.Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend PM improvements to reduce downtime and extend machine life.Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs or calibration when required.2. Preventive Maintenance Program ManagementMaintain and continuously improve the preventive maintenance schedule, adjusting as new machinery is installed or failure trends are identified.Track PM completion, frequencies, and equipment status using logs or spreadsheets.Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, calibration, and inspection of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.Proactively identify wear parts and consumables to prevent unexpected failures.3. Parts, Tools & Maintenance Inventory ControlCoordinate the acquisition, storage, and organization of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.Maintain minimum stock levels for critical CNC and facility components.Track usage and reorder points to support preventive maintenance activities.4. Building & Facility Systems Maintenance (Secondary Focus)Perform maintenance and repairs for building systems, including:Electrical and warehouse lighting Pneumatic systems and air compressors Fans and ventilation systems Plumbing and basic carpentry Breakroom and office maintenance Support facility upgrades, installations, and infrastructure improvements.Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper functioning of all building systems.5. Production & Fabrication SupportSupport production by constructing jigs and fixtures as needed.Cut and prepare all-thread and metal stock to length for production use.Provide wood shop and light metal fabrication support at the direction of the Operations Manager.6. Communication & CoordinationCommunicate maintenance issues, priorities, and repair status with the Operations Manager and Floor Supervisor.Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize production disruption.Document completed work and identify follow-up actions or improvement opportunities.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.12 years of maintenance or manufacturing experience preferred.Prior experience with CNC equipment maintenance, setup, or light programming strongly preferred.Experience in building maintenance, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments is a plus.Technical SkillsBasic to intermediate CNC knowledge (operation, setup, light programming).Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Proficiency with Excel and spreadsheets for tracking maintenance activities.Ability to read manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in confined or awkward spaces.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.EEO Statement: The Company is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
