OverviewSUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the day-to-day operations of the Outside Operations Staff, general maintenance of the golf cart fleet, and assist the Lead Assistant Golf Professional with various responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 6 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver's License Required
OBJECTIVES OF POSITION/DEPARTMENT:
- Display friendliness and helpfulness at all times, to Members, Guests, Visitors, Business Partners and fellow Employee Partners
- Adhere to all Property and Department policies and procedures
- Observe and use of equipment/material property following all safety and security procedures
- Report potentially unsafe conditions
- Return personal belongings left by Members, Guests, Visitors, Business Partners and fellow Employee Partners in to the Golf Shop
- Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls. Ability to understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / ROLE OF DEPARTMENT:
- Ensure golf cart cleaning standards are adhered to including the coordination and execution of cart detailing programs
- Provide punctual and consistent communication to the manager regarding daily operations
- Ensure completion of all department opening procedures, closing procedures, and any daily tasks during shifts
- Stage & detail golf carts each morning before play
- Assist in preparation of golf carts in staging area for any corporate/group outings
- Folding towels and re-filling sand bottles to replace in clean carts
- Keep golf cart return area clear of any traffic backups
- Roam the facility for any abandoned carts left at the different courses or designated parking areas
- Keep workspace clean each evening by taking out the trash, dirty towel bins, sweeping cart return areas, cleaning the wash ramp of any debris, and clearing out drains of any blockage
- Properly record damaged carts
- Park all carts accounted for in the fleet and charge them each evening after play. Any missing carts must be reported
- Ensure range & chipping green are upkept at all times & picked daily
- Keep proper rotation of Cottage carts
- Perform other job duties as assigned by Lead Assistant Golf Professional
SUPERVISORY RESOPNSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises 10 to 20 employees of the outside operations team
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and ensuring work is completed; appraising and reporting performance to the manager; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Maintain inventory of towels, tees, divot repair sand, and any necessary repair equipment
- Report any damage to golf carts to operations manager. Conduct golf cart inspections & perform first echelon maintenance when necessary. Keep records of any maintenance
- Attend weekly meetings with the Lead Assistant Golf Professional
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
