Position Description:
The Parking Services Officer is responsible for supporting the daily operations, enforcement, maintenance, and customer service functions of the university's parking and transportation system. This position patrols campus parking facilities to ensure compliance with university parking regulations, issues citations, verifies permits, and assists with traffic and access control during routine operations and special events. The role also performs revenue collection, basic maintenance and troubleshooting of parking equipment, monitors facilities for safety and operational concerns, and provides assistance to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners. The Parking Services Officer maintains accurate records and reports while promoting a safe, accessible, and customer-focused campus parking environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, secure, and reconcile parking revenue from pay stations and other parking equipment across campus locations.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor repairs on parking gates, pay stations, and access control equipment; document and report major repair needs.
- Patrol campus parking lots, garages, and roadways to enforce university parking rules, regulations, and permit requirements.
- Issue citations, warnings, and take enforcement actions for parking violations, including immobilization or towing when authorized.
- Verify permits, license plates, virtual credentials, and identify abandoned, disabled, or improperly parked vehicles.
- Provide parking information, directions, and customer assistance to students, employees, visitors, vendors, and event guests.
- Respond professionally to complaints, disputes, citation questions, and other parking-related concerns.
- Monitor parking facilities for safety hazards, suspicious activity, vandalism, accidents, and infrastructure concerns; report issues to appropriate departments.
- Assist campus police, security, facilities, and emergency personnel as needed, including traffic and pedestrian control.
- Support campus events, move-in activities, athletic events, commencements, and temporary traffic or parking control operations.
- Operate enforcement and communication equipment, including citation devices, radios, and license plate recognition systems.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, documentation, permit audits, and other operational or compliance-related data.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of cash handling and customer service experience.

Target Compensation Maximum:
$23.08
Target Compensation Minimum:
$15.38
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
