Job Summary
Barings' Investment Grade Corporate team is seeking an experienced investment professional to join the platform as a senior credit analyst. The team manages a large, diversified investment grade corporate credit portfolio and is responsible for fundamental credit research, relative value analysis, and investment recommendations across the capital structure.
This role will lead coverage responsibilities, with primary ownership of the Financials sector. The successful candidate will conduct in-depth fundamental analysis, partner closely with portfolio managers on security selection and risk management, and serve as a key contributor to sector strategy and investment decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Financials sector
Financial analysis and modeling
Evaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structure
Individual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis and total return and relative value assessment
Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverage
Produce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysis
Produce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio management
Collaborate with other Barings' investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectors
Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives
Qualifications
5+ years of credit analyst experience-either investment grade or high yield/bank debt/privates
CFA and/or MBA preferred
Client presentation experience preferred
Excellent writing and communications skills
Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction oriented team
Self-starter, must be organized and able to work independently
Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etc
