260 Days Per Year (25 vacation days + 14 holidays)
Salary: $167,778 - $190,500
Position begins July 1, 2026

DESCRIPTION: The Principal serves as the building administrator and instructional visionary for our comprehensive 4A high school. This role is responsible for the strategic alignment of all school operations, ensuring that the district’s mission is translated into a vibrant, student-centered reality. The Principal holds authority over the management of the campus, tasked with balancing high-level instructional efficacy with a commitment to equity and the holistic well-being of 1,900 students in grades 9-12.

Equity-Driven Results: Lead systemic initiatives to ensure equitable access and outcomes for all learners, fostering a culture where every student is seen, heard, and supported.
Faculty Development: Provide high-impact supervision and professional mentorship to a diverse staff, driving a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative practice.
Comprehensive Management: Exercise full responsibility for the administrative, fiscal, and operational health of the school, ensuring all functions align with District policy and the Superintendent’s strategic goals.
Safety & Stewardship: Maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing campus environment. You will be the primary steward of the school's climate, ensuring it remains a welcoming "home" for our students and community.
Organizational Authority: Direct all building-level operations, including personnel management and master scheduling.
Ambassador of Vision: Serve as the primary liaison between the school, the District Office, and the broader Wenatchee community.
Collaborative Governance: Work in close concert with the Superintendent and district leadership to ensure the school remains a cornerstone of the WSD’s long-term educational mission.
SCHEDULE: POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
CONTRACT PROVISIONS: The successful candidate will be offered a continuing contract in accordance with the district-established Principals/Directors salary schedule.

BENEFITS: Health insurance benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and long term disability plans through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Other benefits include $3,000 annually for professional growth and development, a transportation allowance of $100-$150/month, and a cell phone stipend of $150/month.
Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement: The recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.
Disclosure Statement and Record Check: Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a valid Washington state principal credential and experience leading a comprehensive high school. Successful teaching experience at the secondary level. Ability to work in a team environment that promotes quality instruction and continuous improvement. Visionary leadership skills that include high standards for staff and parents in meeting the learning needs of all students. Strong leadership skills in aligning classroom instruction and assessment with district and state standards. Effective planning skills that translate building and district goals into effective strategies to improve student learning. High integrity and strong organizational and management skills. Demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness, and a respect for others. Ability to improve teaching and learning through effective staff supervision. Proven background of effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, staff and community. Collaborative approach to learning improvement and the ability to facilitate consensus. Commitment to ensuring equity and inclusion of a diverse population. Proven ability to be a productive member of the district’s leadership team. Demonstrated knowledge of district supported frameworks such as PBIS and SEL curriculum and classroom support. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
