Summary of responsibility:

The AR/AP Manager will lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable department for the Haas Shared Services office in Windsor, Connecticut. The main duties for this role will include oversight of a mid-sized team, handling daily financial transactions, reconciliation and the overall responsibility of the cash flow. Other responsibilities would include leading various management initiatives and process implementation projects. Our business footprint consists of five operating divisions spanning fourteen states.

The ideal candidate would be familiar with all accounting procedures and will be responsible for keeping our accounts receivable and payable activities accurate, current and efficient. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and firmly advise the department.

This role does not include responsibility for the following: Investment Strategy and Maintaining Banking Relationships.

Responsible for all Treasury matters, including but not limited to:

  • Cash
  • A/R Collections
  • Customer Relations
  • Vendor Payments
  • Vendor Relations
  • Office Liaison
  • Reporting and Forecasting
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead, direct, and develop the A/R and A/P Staff, currently comprised of six full time employees
  • Handle Monthly Cash Applications, Collections, Dispute Resolution, Reporting of Accounts Receivable and customer relationships
  • Manage monthly payable vouchering, credit processing, vendor statements, weekly payment runs, reporting of AP and vendor relationships.
  • Forecast weekly and monthly cash requirements and set goals for the A/R & A/P staff to achieve
  • Assess performance benchmarks and report monthly results to Controller and VP of Finance
  • Manage and reconcile all cash activities with our Corporate Office
  • Recommend, Implement and Maintain Operational Improvements
  • Communication to the Business Leaders within Accounting, Operations & Tower Management
  • Perform month end close operations- perform the reconciliation of Cash, AR& AP monthly
  • Improve new merchant CC system with the operations to increase upfront customer CC payments
  • Participation of the Build, Testing, Training & Roll out of the new Corporate ERP System (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Corporate Credit Card Management

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in leading a mid-sized team
  • B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • Consistent track record of success in AP/AR position
  • Ability to ensure a high level of detail across all tasks
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Effective Communicator (verbal and written)
