Responsible for providing administrative support to the Commercial Lenders performing a broad variety of activities in the loan application, loan documentation preparation, and loan funding processes.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assists Commercial Lenders in processing all loan requests received by customers including obtaining completed credit application, credit bureau report, any financial information and other supporting documentation required for the Commercial Lender to arrive at a credit decision.

  • Serves as primary contact between customers and Commercial Lenders by aiding in banking transactions (wire transfers, money transfers to other accounts, advances draw request pay downs on loans), responding to inquiries, initiating research, and resolving operational problems.

  • Performs maintenance of account relationships including request of updates or replacement financial statements, monitoring exceptions to ensure required documents are received and filed in the customer's credit file, and assisting in new/renewal credit extensions by gathering, compiling and completing initial portion of credit summary. Assists Commercial Lenders in submitting NSF pay/return and charge/no charge decisions to Operations.

  • Will open business deposit accounts and recommends and sells bank products to meet customers financial needs. Coordinates meetings and customer appointments including arrangement of facilities and preparation of required material, if needed.


  • In the absence of Commercial Lender, determines approach or action to take on non-routine situations based on knowledge of Commercial Lenders habits and preferences, as well as applicable policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Knowledge & Skills


Experience


Three Years of financial services, sales, or lending experience


Education/Certifications/Licenses


High school diploma or equivalent

Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications require shorter and not in-depth discussions most of the time.


Physical Requirements


Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
