Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) is the global leader in sustainable solutions for evaporative cooling, thermal storage, and heat transfer equipment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our Summer 2022 Internship Program!

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern will report to the Global Director, Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Jessup, Maryland, and will operate in a hybrid format, working both virtually and in the office as needed. Interviews will take place on a rolling basis. This position as a full-time, paid opportunity for Summer 2022. The job responsibilities and qualifications are listed below:

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Using off-the-shelf video recognition (AI) tools to develop a customized Digital Industrial Engineer solution to compile operator activity at a factory assembly station in order to reduce waste
  • Analyzing existing, installed video recognition big data for insights to work with the fabrication department stakeholders and vision vendor to process and modify observation targets, respectively, to remove waste in the value stream
  • Conduct assigned manufacturing data gathering and analysis to synthesize recommendations for project output and follow-on investigation
  • Manage scoped project tasks and timing to achieve prioritized deliverables
  • Actively communicate with stakeholders closest to the project content, gaining insight through interviews, observation and connections to datasets
  • Communicate findings and recommendations across the regions, functions and hierarchies
  • Coordinate handoffs to other Engineers, as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Actively pursuing Bachelor or Master of Science in an Engineering discipline; Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical preferred. Third- or Fourth- year or beyond preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and familiarity with programming languages a plus
  • Demonstrated self-direction in past projects
  • Intellectually curious
  • Demonstrated STEM skill and achievement
  • Accomplish tasks through collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills
