Job Description

Position Purpose
Provides leadership, coordination, and direction for management of the open portfolio of current business activities in the 0-18 month business horizon to ensure delivery of IMF projects within each business unit, as well as providing functional supply chain and operations expertise to these activities. In addition, may provide leadership, coordination and direction to ensure successful delivery of Cost Transformation projects with appropriate facilitation across functions and disciplines.

Expectations

Platform/Integration Team Leadership:
Lead cross-functional business teams within a specific business platform to manage open portfolio of activities in a given business cycle (typically current year) to ensure delivery of safety, quality delivery and cost objectives. Specific expectations:

  • Lead integration team meetings
  • Support IMF-Lite Process Management
  • Lead/Support LCM projects, dependent on scope (typically non-IMF projects)
  • Lead Hard Roll Process for product launches, count changes, and modular resets
  • Support Inventory Management Efforts, including SKU Management
  • Lead Platform Cost Management
  • Lead Product Import/Export Activities
  • Lead Platform Capital Budget Management
  • Act as liaison Between Plant/Staff Teams
  • Act as Go-To-Person for Product Supply/Supply Chain Related Issues and Opportunities
  • Execute strategic asset capability and capacity planning activities
  • Participate Portfolio Management Process with specific emphasis on capacity and capital elements of the portfolio

Position may also include Project Commercialization Leadership:
Through IMF BFE gate, participate as a member of the IMF project team to provide functional supply chain expertise to ensure supply chain and manufacturing elements are incorporated into project deliverables. Specific expectations:

  • Participate in development of PI and BFE documents with specific emphasis on supply chain deliverables such as start-up curve forecasts, asset conversion schedules, etc
  • Participate in design safety review process
  • Lead strategic asset/capacity planning

Post IMF BFE gate, lead cross-functional teams to ensure achievement of IMF project objectives defined by BFC success criteria, providing the link between and across all functions within the project team.

Specific expectations:

  • Lead for project communications at this project stage
  • Execute project management tasks including timeline management, risk assessment plans, action item management, roles and responsibilities, interactive planning sessions
  • Lead specific supply chain sub-teams in support of project execution
  • Continue to provide operations and supply chain functional expertise in support of supply chain deliverables (e.g. start up curve refinement)
  • Lead development of BFI, BFC, BFL (if required) and project PEARL documents
  • Lead project closeout activities including transition to LCM
  • Lead steering committee meetings
  • Lead project capital funding authorization, including development of business case for the project
  • Act as key liaison to plant teams relative to project execution plans
  • Act as key liaison to any global partners impacted by the implementation of the project

Scope
The incumbent reports to the AFC Launch Program Leader within Personal Care Manufacturing. He/she provides leadership for the sectors manufacturing facilities and leads major projects requiring multi-function and multi-sector coordination. The incumbent coordinates major sector budgets. The incumbent provides technical direction and consulting on a wide array of supply chain and operational issues, bringing significant depth and breadth of experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Generally 7-10 years of experience in increasingly broader technical or operational roles with demonstrated track record of achievement and growth in leadership with years with minimum 3 years of previous supply chain/ manufacturing experience.
  • Experience across multiple functions and sectors, plant and staff roles.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of LEAN and CI principles and tools.
  • Must be able to provide leadership to the sectors manufacturing units and provide staff leadership and influence for multi-function programs and issues.
  • Needs to have substantial in-depth knowledge of the sectors operating units, a thorough understanding of the sectors business, and a broad general knowledge of other business units serviced by the sector.
  • Knowledge/experience with Class I and Class II quality systems preferred
