McIntosh Construction, an Arcosa Company, is seeking motivated, punctual, and safety-focused Asphalt Roller Operator for our Asphalt Construction operation in Clarksville, TN. The successful candidate for this job will have previous experience in concrete finishing work, and an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

McIntosh Construction was founded in 1966 as a grading and utility contractor that evolved into an asphalt paving and curb/gutter for all types of commercial, municipal and DOT projects.

What youll do:

• Inspect, clean, maintain and make minor equipment repairs or report malfunctions to Supervisor/Foreman.


• Monitor asphalt temperatures and vibration usage for proper breakdown and finish rolling of asphalt.


• Promote, execute, and adhere to the companys safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.


• Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.


• Other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Foreman.

What youll need:

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.


• Previous experience operating an asphalt roller or similar heavy equipment preferred.


• Must comply with the companys drug and alcohol testing requirements.


• Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.


• Flexibility to work varied shifts, to include nights, weekends, and overtime.


• Excellent communication and time management skills.


• Must have reliable transportation to get back and forth to work each day.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructed furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


• Ability to get along with others and have a positive attitude.


• Ability to maintain composure in stressful traffic or other situations.
