Primary Function

Together with the HR Business Partner, the main mission of the Assistant Manager, Human Resource is to establish HR as a trusted partner to the business. He/She ensures HR initiatives, programs, and policies are established and administered to fully to meet the needs of the Singapore market to drive business results.


  • Partners closely with the Leaders in ensuring organizational readiness and capability to deliver business results. Supports and provides advice in structuring and developing their respective teams to maximize performance and employee engagement.
  • Coaches managers on talent management and performance management. Works with managers on ways to best motivate and challenge their teams, (from high performers to under performers) to ensure employee performance, engagement and accountability. This also includes facilitating and delivering training programs for both corporate and retail employees.
  • Establishes trust with employees to help them navigate job issues; provides counsel on career development and answers general questions regarding HR programs and policies.
  • Drives programs and initiatives which elevate the LS&Co experience and EVP for employees, new and existing. This include initiatives relating to team engagement, wellness programs etc.
  • Manages in-bound and out-bound employee transfers in alignment with Global HR Transfer policy.
  • Facilitates the negotiation and preparation of expatriate contract and salary calculation, as well as the relocation process.
  • Works with regional rewards team to ensure rewards program are competitive and build business case for proposed change/s in benefit when required.
  • Accountable with payroll team to ensure precision in salary payments and accurate and timely accounting entries. Works closely with HR Specialist to confirm Workday is also up to date regarding employee personnel data, compensation details and organizational structure changes.
  • Participates as team member on multi-disciplinary projects that utilize various parts of the HR organization to achieve the project's objectives.


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with emphasis in human resource management or psychology preferred
  • Ability to offer solutions, provide advice and drive resolution on people related matters.
  • More than 8 years' HR generalist experience in an MNC.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with diverse groups of people and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Customer oriented, approachable with strong interpersonal skills
  • Approaches challenges with an open-mind and is willing to try new things.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong HRIS experience; Workday a plus.
