OBJECTIVES:

The Global Oncology Forecasting & Analytics (GOFA) team at Takeda Oncology is part of the Global Oncology Planning and Insights (GOPI) group, a strategic advisory group within Takeda Oncology that drives global strategic decisions and commercial business planning across Takeda Oncology. The primary responsibility of the Associate Director or Director AD/Dir) is to contribute to the success of the global commercial forecasting & analytics function by being a key partner for the senior leadership team in the Takeda Oncology business unit. The AD/Dir will proactively provide strategic thought-leadership on the commercial strategy for Takeda Oncologys key assets working with Takeda Oncology Global Marketing and business unit heads (both at Cambridge, MA and globally). The AD/Dir will lead the conceptualization, development and refinement of best in class forecasting and analytics capabilities, owning and communicating the long-term outlook and vision for Takeda Oncologys most important late stage and inline assets. The AD/Dir will lead the definition and organization of forecasting methodology and calculations in collaboration with various cross-functional teams such as marketing, finance, value and access, insights, competitive analysis etc. by providing analytical support through building new / improving existing dynamic patient flow models. The AD/Dir will support utilization of data science in trend based forecasting, unstructured data mining, and patient models using large internal and external physician-level & patient-level datasets. The AD/Dir will work in collaboration with various country based forecasting and insights teams, by providing strategic thought-leadership on various aspects of the planning process

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead design, development and implementation of Oncology forecast models & tracking globally; proactively identify new data sources that will enhance decision making & increase forecast accuracy.

  • Lead presentation and explanation of modeling assumptions to key global stakeholders including senior leadership and triangulate assumptions with other data and forecasting models to pressure test, develop what if scenarios.

  • Lead design and implementation of best-in-class forecast modeling approaches; work with supplier partners, foster strong partnerships in the context of resources, timing and overall goals.

  • Lead Integration of forecasting efforts & insights with primary research, competitive intelligence, & analytics insights co-developed with peers across the GOPI and translate into business impact.

  • In partnership with GOPI and global marketing team colleagues, lead identification and development of key performance metrics to measure and monitor brand strategy.

  • Lead a team of 1-3 external staff

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education:

  • BA/BS degree,

  • Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years (or advanced degree and five years) of relevant experience in forecasting, market research, or business analytics in the biopharmaceutical industry or other such similar industries.

  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, patient based forecast modeling including dynamic patient flow models

  • Product launch and Global experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Forecasting for rare disease and/or oncology

  • Data Science and predictive analytics

  • Data visualization and dashboard tools (e.g. Qlik, Tableau)

  • Broad working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases

  • Working knowledge of global access and reimbursement policies, competitive environment and potential impact on product development and commercialization strategy

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, including external vendors

  • Working with offshore based teams

  • Strong project management skillsability to plan, organize and execute multiple projects efficiently, on time and within budget

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

  • Ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders in simple language and lead/drive consensus building

  • Demonstrated analytical skills combined with a client-service mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to drive key business decisions
