We are seeking an Information Technology Project Manager that leads the execution of technology projects to support key global business initiatives and modernize mission-critical infrastructure. As a Project Manager, you will have primary responsibility for the budget/resource management, reporting, and execution of mission critical projects that are transforming Alnylam's core technology platforms. In this highly visible role, you will apply your experience to effectively oversee/manage multiple projects within the specified time frame and budget. You will also function as a liaison between IT and the business owner, and act as the go-to person that represents the entire project, from the planning stage, through deployment and release, and finally to the operations stage.

The individual will have the ability to work remotely, and will need to work Eastern business hours.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage large/complex technology infrastructure projects.
  • Establish clearly defined start and end dates, a specific scope of work, a budget, required resources, and a specified performance objective to be achieved.
  • Coordinate project team members to ensure completion of the defined project(s).
  • Partner with Technology Product Owners and Business Sponsors to develop strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Drive project completion by achieving all milestones and technology implementation, while delivering defined business outcomes within approved budget and timeline.
  • Consistently demonstrate advanced knowledge and competence in the technologies that is being implemented at Alnylam.
  • Responsible for leading one or more complex projects typically between $250,000 - $2,000,000.
  • Clearly define and communicate roles, responsibilities and expectations for all members of the project team.
  • Provide direction and leadership to project management analysts and schedulers, if applicable.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings.
  • Record, track, and communicate issues, risks, changes, and status reports using Alnylam standard project management tools.
  • Accurately and consistently forecast project resources, materials and contract costs within standard Alnylam project management tools.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Monitor critical project milestones and identify ways to resolve schedule issues.
  • Coordinate any required contract work within defined Alnylam policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate site visits as needed.
  • Assess project performance and implement changes as necessary to ensure projects remain within specified cost, schedule, scope and quality objectives.
  • Communicate status of all projects to stakeholders and management.
  • Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key business leaders.
  • Resolve problems of project specific scope within procedural guidelines.
  • Prepare all project documentation for closure, storage, and possible auditing activities, ensuring technical accuracy.


  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication/presentation skills - ability to distill complex technology issues for business stakeholders in a clear, concise, audience-appropriate manner
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to take on new projects and learn new technologies
  • Disciplined approach to business and people management processes
  • Ability to provide prompt, effective communications and follow-up to project stakeholders


  • 4-year bachelor's degree required.
  • Completion of PMP or other PM certification (preferred)
  • 8 years of Infrastructure project management experience preferred.
  • Independently managed at least 3 large-scale, technology projects to completion, though all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Expertise in various Project Management Tools, MS Office Suite.
