Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a full time Benefits Analyst at our central business office in Westerville, OH. The Benefits Analyst assists in the daily administration of enterprise-wide employee health & welfare, retirement and other benefit plans; works with vendors and employees to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate utilization of benefits; keeps up-to-date on federal and state legislation and regulations affecting programs and policies; complies with legal provisions and reporting requirements. Responsible for administration of the Benefits Portal within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).


o Assists with the day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans and programs. Provide customer services to employees, physicians and managers to answer benefit questions and resolve problems. Ensure issues/questions are responded to and resolved promptly. Coordinate with benefit plan vendors and providers as applicable.

o Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Benefits Portal within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This includes system configuration and testing for Open Enrollment and periodic system updates; monitoring and taking action for all employee benefit elections; managing connections to third-party vendors; reporting and data audits. Monitors system effectiveness to determine whether modifications should be applied.

o Coordinates all benefit invoicing for plan vendors, enrollees and benefit plans. Assists with benefit arrears reporting and administration.

o Educate and assist employees with the 401(k) retirement plan. Coordinate with vendor partners to conduct educational programs related to retirement plans including written communications/promotional content, as well as virtual and onsite meetings. Work with vendors and management on annual reporting, compliance and non-discrimination testing.

o Research new benefit plan and total rewards programs and policies; develop proposals for enhancements and revisions. Assist with RFP and bid processes for plan vendors/programs including impact analysis, assessment, implementation and administration of new programs.

o Keep up-to-date on federal and state legislation and trends affecting benefit plans, programs and policies; ensure compliance with all regulations, reporting requirements and related communications.

o Identify strategies for implementing new and revised procedures and programs to streamline processes and improve service delivery.

A. Education, Licensures & Certifications

o Bachelors Degree in human resources, business administration, accounting or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

o Completion of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation preferred.

B. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

o Four to six years' experience in a benefits role; considerable knowledge and demonstrated work experience in all areas of employee benefit programs.

o Experience with HRIS/Benefits Admin systems required; UltiPro Prime/PlanSource preferred.

o High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) along with strong analytic skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

o Experience with vendor selection process, including assisting in preparing RFPs, the selection process and implementation of new programs.

o Highly collaborative with the capability to build cross-functional relationships. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

o Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.

o Thorough understanding of all applicable federal and state regulations regarding benefits, including Section 125, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and FMLA.
