Nemours Children's Health is seeking an experienced Benefits Manager that can be based out of Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL or Wilmington, DE. This will be a hybrid remote work/in office position. You must be in close proximity to one of our major locations in the areas listed above. This role will oversee benefits for Nemours Children's Health across the enterprise.

The Benefits Manager manages the benefits function for the organization. Plans and directs the implementation and administration of all health care and retirement benefit programs. Provides guidance to all levels of management about interpretation of policies and practices and makes recommendations on complex benefits issues. Evaluates services and levels of coverage and plans modification of existing benefits programs. Keeps abreast of regulatory changes affecting health and welfare plans and benefit trends and makes recommendations to senior management. Has responsibility for vendor management, financial reporting of all benefits costs, and benefits communications. Supervises benefits analysts. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Total Rewards in Human Resources. This position will be located in Jacksonville, Florida.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Manages the evaluation, planning, and administration of Nemours' various benefits programs, including the retirement program. Assesses effectiveness of programs in meeting the overall strategic objectives and oversees the development and implementation of changes and improvements.
  • Represents organization to third-party administrators of health and retirement plans, including actuarial and legal consultants.
  • Delivers accurate benefit information to new hires.
  • Directs the development of benefits proposals and appeal process.
  • Serves as internal consultant to management, Human Resources personnel, and Associates relative to all benefits programs
  • Develops, updates, and presents various benefits communications such as benefits announcements, newsletters, updates, benefits statements, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Ensures that benefits plans and practices are in compliance with external and internal regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in development, implementation, and maintenance of short and long-term planning objectives and implements projects/programs to assist in achievement of objectives.
  • Works with third-party vendors to conduct quarterly financial analyses and assists with development of cost containment strategies.
  • Oversees the quarterly and annual process for retirement plan contributions to ensure accurate and timely delivery of funds.
  • Ensures accuracy of benefit plan rates in enrollment system; partners with finance to ensure timely reconciliation of benefit audits.
  • Manages budget expenditures and participates in budget planning processes.
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of previous Benefits Manager or HR Management experience required.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certified Benefits Professional certification preferred
