About the Opportunity

Strengthening the economy and our communities means staying current on emerging topics that have national and local economic implications. This highly visible role will work on the President's team of key advisors, identifying opportunities for the Richmond Fed to voice industry, workforce and demographic issues affecting our District. In this two-year role, the Business Advisor will produce a regular flow of topic and content ideas for use in the President's speeches and external engagements and conduct ongoing analysis on content once ideas are finalized.

What You Will Do:

• Remain abreast, through ongoing research, of external pertinent and emerging issues and topics that pose implications to the national or local economy (including industry, workforce, and demographics) and identify opportunities for the Richmond Fed to have a voice on relevant issue(s) for proposal to the Bank president.
• Produces regular flow of topic and content ideas at a fast pace for use in president's speeches and external engagements; conducts additional analysis, as needed, on content once ideas are finalized.
• Gains familiarity with the president's approach to economic inquiry in order to advance our knowledge and anticipate future areas of interest.
• Develops speech and external engagement content in partnership with Research Associate.
• Collaborate with the president's Special Assistant on alignment of content with president's external engagement and communications strategy.
• Collaborate with the president's speech writer for final speech development
• Provide briefing materials and/or written analysis for president.
