Position Title:Business Analyst III - 6E

Position Summary

As Business Analyst III, you are responsible for using your in-depth analytical skills to independently develop the models, process and tools necessary to prioritize, monitor and report on Crown Castle performance programs aimed at improving governance and decision making. In this role you will partner with leaders from across Crown Castle with limited input to develop analytical governance and strategy, capture all necessary inputs and build process/tools used to advance strategic programs. As a senior member of the team you will lead multiple complex projects that have meaningful impact on a significant part of the organization. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally to establish standard operating procedures (SOP) with the goal of educating key stakeholders on how to properly use your models, process and tools to effectively execute to strategically.

The key responsibility for this position will be to create, develop, launch, and sustain an operational headcount planning, analysis, and governance program. You will work with executives to understand what information is needed to ensure the correct composition and size of the workforce, and then develop the systems, tools, and processes to surface that information in a clear and concise manner to drive enhanced decision-making.

Essential Job Functions

  • Independently establish strategy and tools along with associated SOPs to prioritize investment decisions and demonstrate progress on complex programs / projects.

  • Decompose complex and nebulous business /user requirements into requirements specifications to a level of detail suitable for use by those that must base their work on the requirements.

  • Facilitate internal meetings with managers and other team members to keep projects on track.

  • Utilize contracting data, general ledger reports, and other available financial and operational information in to inform analytical & governance outputs.

  • Manage multiple assigned projects simultaneously to completion, ensuring that all activities are coordinated and completed on time and within budget.

  • Track and report project progress, using standard methods and procedures to monitor critical project blockers and issue reports to inform appropriate stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.

  • Proactively identify and partner to mitigate risks to performance and pursue opportunities to improve performance with key stakeholders.

  • Partner cross-functionally on process and tools to enable proper governance with the goal of increased revenues, cost avoidance, and speed to market.

  • Drive rollout planning and effective communication regarding process changes.

  • Post launch analyze project level performance in partnership with finance and operational teams to ensure project activity is meeting key thresholds.

  • Assist with the development of training as necessary.

  • Act as a mentor / resource to less tenured colleagues to help guide their success.

  • Participate in peer reviews of work products and documents.


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Management Science, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline

  • MBA or other quantitative Masters degree a plus

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Five (5) years of combined experience in financial and/or operational reporting roles

  • Five (5) years in a quantitative analytical role (e.g., finance, strategy, operations, analytics, data science) building models to surface actionable business insights

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively on multiple complex projects/programs in a deadline-driven environment

  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, scope drafting, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and achieving objectives on schedule and within budget

  • Knowledge of MS Excel (specifically, advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts) including experience building complex models

  • Extensive experience with forecasting methods and data analysis

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with headcount-related planning and analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to independently recognize problems, recommend solutions, with limited input and collaboratively implement changes using strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization, including executive and senior management teams

  • Expert ability to build and maintain relationships across cross-functional teams and to work effectively in a matrix organization

  • Expert ability to explain budgeting and financial information in plain terms

  • Extensive understanding of metrics and their use to drive behavior and process change

  • Experience with JDE and Oracle Financial system or similar ERP systems

  • Experience with UltiPro a plus

  • Experience with PowerBI a plus

  • Experience with multiple unit reporting entities

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Ability to travel domestically as required
