Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, forward thinking business analyst who is obsessed with delighting our customers and is excited to provide that positive user experience.

As a business analyst in our US Segment (John Hancock) Buy Value Stream delivery team, you will be a team member responsible for triaging end user issues in our core admin system for Life New Business. You will collaborate directly with an agile team consisting of Product Owners, Integration Analysts and other stakeholders. The right candidate will also be someone who's motivated to get it done together, loves learning, problem solving and using technology.

What will you do?

  • Intake of user issues, triaging issues and working with IT and/or the vendor find a resolution.
  • Identifying instances and coaching back when the issue is the result of user error.
  • Collaborating with the training team to revise/enhance documentation to ensure understanding and accuracy.
  • Working closely with the vendor to communicate user and customer needs to facilitate stronger analysis and better solutions.
  • This role requires the successful candidate to provide support during weekend implementations (the team rotates, each person generally works one weekend morning every month or two).
  • Working in collaboration with product owners on implementation weekend providing guidance to users to validate any new functionality

What you bring?

Must have:

  • Driven and enthusiastic working in Information Technology (IT)
  • Exposure to project management and agile principles and methodologies Strong analytical skills and communication
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a business analyst role
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in the Life Insurance industry
  • Post-secondary education, and /or related business experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong structured analytical/problem solving skills
  • Experience with Agile principles and/or other similar principles
  • Flexibility and desire to learn
